Frontier Burger is bringing the charbroiled burgers of 1940’s back to San Antonio and a sense of nostalgia with them. Part of Frontier Enterprises, the company gives a nod to the delicious all-American food of the Alamo City’s past including their fresh pies and hand-spun milkshakes. Frontier Burger was founded by G. “Jim” Hasslocher who as a former president of the Texas Restaurant and National Restaurant Associations has received the highest awards in his 60+ years of achievement in the restaurant industry.

Great place that has been around for a lot of years! We got a cheeseburger with onion rings. Char broiled taste. Tony and Val got their fries….thick krinkle cut. The onion rings were good. The place is owned by Jim’s. Recommend. Great place to bring the kids.

The first time I went there with a friend (the who recommended), of course I went for the Frontier Burger with Onion rings and It was amazing! You really can taste the difference from other burger places, especially the char or smoky flavor and the onion rings were good. The only downside is the size of the drink, it’s small for texas!

1st Time here and I Loved It. The Burger was Delicious, Fries and Onion Rings were Delicious, Hamburger Buns, Vegetables, were Fresh and Delicious. The Restaurant Beautiful and Clean. They clean tables with Disinfectant and they have Hand Sanitizer Stations.

Really, really great! I had heard good things and we wanted to try it for ourselves… definitely glad we did. The patty melt was remarkable, leagues better than what you’d get at other nearby chain burger spots — absolutely loaded with cheese, on buttery bread, two meaty charbroiled patties and I added mushrooms too. Gooey, and “heavy” — it was a meal itself. My wife had the Ol’ Smokey and that hickory sauce really hit different. The onion rings had a flaky batter with just the right amount of salt with a hint of sweet — I annihilated them while I waited for my burger to cool down. I also ordered a cup of chili in case I was still hungry, but after that patty melt… nope, we brought it home with us. Overall, it was a little pricey but the quality was there and we weren’t left hungry or disappointed in the slightest.

I REALLY wanted this to be good. But it wasn’t. The staff is great, and they really want it to be good too, but is not… flame broiled burgers, I don’t know. Burgers taste like sonic, almost, and the chili, looks good, no flavor. Sorry, but I won’t be back.

I’ve dined in and ordered through drive-thru. It’s your average fast food experience, however, I really like their burgers. They are charbroiled which is my favorite. Their fries are not the best, my husband absolutely loves the onion rings though. Price is about average, but portions are great! I definitely get full anytime I get a meal. Basically, try this instead of Burger King.

Food and service is great here! All of the workers are very attentive. The burgers are delicious! I love they give you the option to get half fries & half onion rings. I’ve been bringing my Dad to eat here since they opened up Frontier and it never disappoints!
