Top notch sushi bar!! The fish was very fresh! Beautifully made! Each roll was perfect! We always had full drinks and our servers were amazing! Even at a very busy time we were able to fit us in for a party of 2. I hope to be in town again soon and will definitely return!

Full Moon is one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve been to in San Diego! Sushi was modern, delicious and beautifully plated. The entire staff (especially our sushi chef Albert) were incredibly fun and hospitable to us. We loved the Milky Way Roll, Spicy Yellowtail Roll, and garlic edamame was some of the best I’ve had! Atmosphere is trendy and inviting and would make an excellent date spot. Would recommend to make reservations since this is such a popular restaurant. Cannot recommend Full Moon enough!!

The staff was really friendly but I do find food is very expensive for lower quality in San Diego and that is disappointing. But I guess that’s just San Diego. They were pretty basic rolls for $18 -$20

Very fresh and good sushi with a beautiful atmosphere. The fish was so good. And the seaweed salad was delicious with the vinaigrette they use. I feel like you just can’t go wrong here.

The food was amazing the only thing is that the host need to get training in how actually to be one!

I am from Hawaii and I am part Japanese and I enjoy eating sea food and I especially love sushi. I have had sushi all over the United States, from coast to coast, Alaska and of course Hawaii. I have not had any sushi in Japan yet, but I will be there next month and I am really excited. I just had sushi at Full Moon Sushi in San Diego and it was excellent. It isn’t my number 1, but damn it is so close. The quality was spot on and the variety was amazing. They serve things I have never seen at other restaurants including flying fish and needle fish, the chef and I were also talking about barracuda that they sometime serve in Hawaii we call it Kaku. I could not believe some of their menu items. Sadly though they did not have any needle fish while I was there. However, my favorite sushi and the way I test sushi restaurants I visit is with Amaebi. Amaebi is known by most as spot prawns. It is often served with a raw tail and fried head. It must be super fresh, otherwise it is slimy and nasty and there have been times I could just smell it and not eat it. Full Moon Sushi served me an amaebi that was still alive. Talk about fresh! The head was not cooked. But after I ate the tails they took the heads and made a soup. OMG!!!!! For a seafood soup that was the best most amazing soup I ever had. The broth with the heads was amazing and the heads were still pretty crunchy and were so tasty. If you want to enjoy some exotic seafood and you love sushi, if you are in San Diego I high recommend Full Moon Sushi.

Wonderful experience. Try things you aren’t used to, and don’t be shy to ask the chef’s opinion (they’re right there in front of you). Really top quality sushi. Very fair prices. Excellent (and then some) staff.

HAPPY HOUR! This place does not disappoint. Went for HH that just recently started and it was literally just the staff and myself. Safe to say they were all very welcoming and the best part was fresh seafood coming through the front door (see picture). Sit at the bar and have a friendly conversation with head chef Kevin or the owner Jarrius (sorry if I butchered the spelling or name’s). Totally coming back anytime I’m in San Diego again. Hand rolls are a must. Had the spicy scallop and spicy yellowtail hand rolls. I didn’t take many pictures cause I was stuffing my face…

This was probably the best sushi I have had in five years. All I have to say is that if you are a sushi lover, you absolutely have to order the full moon specialty sushi roll it is insane. There is roasted mushroom crab on top of the sushi itself. we sat on the patio and enjoyed twinkling lights and delicious sake at the recommendation of our server. We were celebrating a special occasion, and she very generously served us a second bottle of sake at no extra charge. We tried the Shishido peppers to start, which were pleasantly spicy. also ordered three specialty rolls, including the full moon roll, all of which were uniquely different but equally delicious. We tried some of the cookies and cream ice cream for dessert, which we were told was from one of the local ice cream shops. All in all, a very satisfactory evening. The chef certainly knows how to serve up a variety of absolutely amazing Japanese dishes, and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the downtown area.
