Very good Chinese and Japanese fusion udon. The udon here has a strong flavor unlike other udon restaurants. It’s easy to eat and flavorful. The restaurant is super clean and staffs are nice. You can see the kitchen working on your food here. I did order spicy miso udon on the lunch menu and it was big and tasty. I don’t know how big the udon on the dinner menu would be. If you are an udon fan, don’t hesitate to visit.

Food and service are good. The place is a bit small and so tables are quite closely arranged. Price is on the higher end for a bowl of noodle. The broth flavors and tenderness of the meat are the highlights of the meal.

Absolutely the most delicious udon bowls I have ever had. I tried both the warm and the cold ones and they were fantastic. Overall the place feels like a very authentic Japanese restaurant with very respectful and attentive staff. Great experience!

I had the takoyaki and the ebi kakiage udon. The udon itself was really good and cooked perfectly. The ebi kakiage that came with it was not authentic (they used the wrong kind of shrimp and seasoning) but still tasted great. The takoyaki wasn’t authentic either. It didn’t taste bad but as a Japanese person, this was not a takoyaki. The outer crispy layer was completely wrong and the katsuo shavings had an odd texture to it. If this place was advertised as Americanized Japanese I wouldn’t mind it, but they were advertising it as an authentic restaurant, which it simply was not. The service was not the best either, and once we finished eating, we felt like we were pressured to quickly pay and get out.

Went at ~3pm, surprisingly packed for three odd time but the wait time was short (people didn’t stay very long). We got the kitsune udon (a great vegan option) and a sukiyaki udon. Both are really good! Would return.

I have been to Futago twice and I cannot stop raving about their udon to my friends. Creative, vibrant and obviously delicious dishes, plenty of street parking near by, what else could you ask for! There’s no reservation and always a line, so call ahead to check wait times.

Finally was able to try Futago Udon! I wanted to go for their Uni Cream Udon. It was good, was expecting a bit more and I feel like the brought was watery… I thought it will be creamier. Their Sukiyaki Udon I will definitely be back for! The brought is nice and flavorful and tastes exactly like sukiyaki.

I would come here once every two weeks during my time as an undergrad at BU. The portions are very generous and worth the price. My favorite is the cold uni !

Staff was very friendly. We got lucky and got seated right away as it was pretty busy and not many tables to begin with. The fried chicken was very tasty. Dark meat but that’s the most flavor right! The purple sweet potato was a little dry. Nothing super special about the udon. Could use a touch more meat. Taste was fine. The kids noodle threw us because we asked for plain udon for the kid and she brought us a bowl of ice cold just rinsed noodle. I would think they would have warmed them at least. So that was a bust. All in all average decent stop.
