The original G&M Restaurant was founded in 1974 as a neighborhood pizza shop. The old pizza shop evolved into a casual family restaurant over the years to include a number of dining rooms, as well as a lounge. A minor renovation occurred in 1993 when the business changed hands. While the restaurant may have looked a little different, the emphasis on high quality meals, served in generous portions at reasonable prices continued. On a trip visiting family in Baltimore area, my wife always looked forward to stopping by her favorite crab cake restaurant. Always the best crab cakes she has ever eaten. Bit of a drive from her brother’s farm near the PA line, but well worth it. We arrived about 7:00 PM on a Tuesday and parking lot was packed but after a couple circles we caught a car leaving.

Came for dinner on a Wednesday night with the family. I ordered a bottle of wine at the bar while waiting for my party to all arrive. Service was quick. It’s strange they won’t let you take it to your table after but it is not a big deal. The restaurant always get full pretty quick so you know it is good.

BEST CRAB CAKES EVER! I am talking about very little breading and all Crab meat! The seasoning was amazing! Fast friendly service and the place is a lot bigger inside than it looks outside. Crab dip and firecracker shrimp was so delicious! Did I mention you can order online and you can have it delivered? Check out their website! Save some room for the freshly baked desserts!

Food was great. Service was mediocre. The Maryland crab cake and crab dip was to die for. The seafood pasta was also amazing. The grilled oysters are something you will want to try. They are lightly grilled/broiled and topped with lemon, butter and garlic.

In my opinion G&M Restaurant has the best crab cakes in the world! I always make this place a requirement anytime I am in town. The food is that amazing! They also have an awesome Maryland Style Crab Soup! Regardless of what I’ve ordered here it’s always so good. If you don’t have time to sit and eat here you can always order to go and it’s just as tasty! G&M Restaurant gets my highest recommendation for Food… you just can’t find better crab anywhere!

I normally love this place. I have always enjoyed the staple dishes over the past 20 years. Recently, I’ve taken a few groups of friends here to try the food. Recently I found that the food is not as flavorful. If you come here for crab cakes then you’re good. The crab cakes are amazing. The service is always amazing and the drinks are great. This last visit, I got the scallops and they were not good at all. I will caveat this to say I did not bring it up to the waitress. I just left the food on the table. This place is definitely worth a try.

Bar none, the #1 Crab cakes in Maryland . I travel to Baltimore 4-5 times per year. I have tried all the top-rated places in MD and G&M has the best crab cakes without question! They are almost ALL CRAB, only enough crumbs & filler to hold the cake together. G&M’s Caesar salad it PHENOMENAL as well. It’s like each leaf of romaine is personally chilled, washed and placed on the salad individually. My last trip to Baltimore last week, I visited G&M 3 out of the 5 days I was in town. This past trip, I tried the Maryland Burger, with a 3oz crab cake on top. It was good, but I recommend the crab cake platter with wonderfully prepared veggie sides

This place does not disappoint. Everytime we go down to Baltimore this is always our restaurant of choice. The crab cake is always consistent and amazingly good. We went yesterday for dinner and we order the special which comes with a whole soft shell crab and a 4 oz crab cake and fries. The portion was big. We also got the Maryland crab soup and the grilled octopus. Everything was cooked perfectly. To top that off our waiter Paul was amazing. He was very attentive and constantly refill our water even though we went on Father’s Day and it was extremely busy. He kept coming back to check on us to make sure we were still doing ok. If you haven’t been here before I highly recommend this place.

Took my parents here for birthdays and Father’s Day. Food was delicious and cooked to order. My Mom got the Ribeye, well done and my Dad and I got the Crab Cake Platter. My Mom’s steak was delicious and not dried out she said. Dad and my crab cakes were large, (8oz.) and very little filler, lots of lump crab meat and flavor. Drinks were tasty and not watered down and desserts were good too. I didn’t get a picture of them because my parents got them to go home with them, but Dad’s lemon cheesecake was good he said and Mom’s coconut cake was good and a huge piece. Cake flavorful not dried out. My only complaint was the bread wasn’t warm enough to melt the butter, but that’s it. Tiffany, like the jewelry store, was fabulous. She was vey attentive, we not once had to look for her for something. If we asked she remembered to bring it to us on her next go around, even if it wasn’t to our table. Very good waitress!
