Known for their authentic southern cured hams, these guys make a lot of smoked products, biscuits and more. Small town business that’s been around since the late 1960s. Saw them at the Murfreesboro farmer’s market and bought some of the bacon made with just pepper and salt. No nitrites, nitrates or msg.

I have been going to the farmer’s market for 6 or 7 years now. I have learned since my experience with this company never to use my credit card for purchases there again. I bought 1 small item that I still don’t know the exact price for and was charged $9.88. When I called and spoke with Peter, instead of searching for the transaction in his system, he required that I give him my full card information to rerun the whole transaction (including CVV and ZIP code after I had already been overcharged) and only refunded me $5 after the fact. So I ended up paying $4.88 for a sausage and biscuit mini which I still think was more than the cost and with nothing in return for my time and effort dealing with being overcharged. If this were my company, A. I would be more careful charging people’s cards (They acted like this was just a small error, I’m wondering how many other people use credit cards and overlook this!) B. I would definitely consider my customer’s time if I overcharged them. The man had a smirky attitude on the phone like he was right about everything, so instead of arguing I will just leave my negative review here for others to see. I will continue to support local businesses just not this one and folks be careful sliding your card at the market, especially at the Hammery!

I called the day ahead and picked up 2 packages of their biscuits and THINLY SLICED country ham. It was outstanding! And the guests at my party kept asking where I got them. Some friends from Franklin are coming over to get their own delicious supply!

We highly enjoyed Angel biscuits with sausage and with pork chop. The pineapple flavor was a win in our household. Super easy family morning breakfast for a fast pace mom on the run. Differently going to try the ham next.

I was genuinely welcomed by a kind man. He helped me decide on what I wanted: giving info on each option.

After seeing The Hamery featured on Southern Accents I had to visit on my way back to Florida. I am so glad I did. I purchased Angel Biscuits, sliced ham and bacon along with a jar of chow chow. The biscuits were so tender and the ham was paper thin and tasty. Were I a local hostess they would be on my menus without fail. The bacon is the best I have eaten since that, that I used to enjoy on my great-grandfather’s farm in the delta region of Arkansas, I would happily pay for the dry ice if they would ship their bacon, it is that good. But, the chow chow was the real treasure, it brought tears to my eyes as I was swept back to my great-grandmother’s table, it is not the mustardy mess one usually finds but a delicate combination that tastes like the last fruits of the summer garden and is perfect with any Southern meal, but for me, especially with beans and cornbread. Get the ham juice to use in beans and greens – you will not be disappointed. I can hardly wait for my next trip when I can bring an entire cooler of bacon.

I love their Angel Biscuits with ham! Recommend calling before visit to make sure they have stock ready if you want more than a small serving.

Problem with an order, customer service is poor. Peter, Avery kind young man will go out of his way to listen and try to help. The worst is the owner, Bob. I was called WACKO and accused of calling Husk restaurant in Nashville making complaints re The Hamery. Whoever done this struck a nerve with this man and he took it out on me. My wording was direct, true and respectful regarding my service and to be talked to this way is unbelievable.
