2 stars is generous. Reason I gave 2 was because my dad and friend liked their meal. Unfortunately for the other 4 of us the best thing was the water. We had dinner – Salmon, Roasted Red Pepper soup, and a hamburger. The salmon was overpowered by the char and so was the hamburger. My sister’s salmon was drenched in a greasy tasteless dill sauce, luckily I ask for mine on the side. I got mashed potatoes with my meal. When I inquired about gravy choices, I was informed there was an up charge to add gravy. The soup was really greasy, as were the vegetables and they were very soggy! The pie was just ok. The only reason I would go again was if my dad wanted too, although I would try and talk him into something else.

Went in for a late lunch. Clean and friendly. Staff were all very nice. Ordered pork tenderloin sandwich and a prime rib sandwich with steak fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw was just ok. The fries were hot n crispy outside and fluffy inside. The pork and beef were tasty and tender. The bread and veggies were nice and fresh. Most of all the service was just the best. Such nice people. Be back soon for dinner!

The fettuccine alfredo was great, as was the beef dip. I had the barnyard chicken club, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent, prices were average. The only real problem was the sirloin, which was ordered well done and came out red. (steak preparedness opinions aside) Not a little pink, but red and full of gristle. See pics.

This review is for Gabby’s Rustic Eats in Chino Valley. 5 stars for the wait staff. 1 star for the food. Super disappointed tonight. Sloppy Joe was disgusting. No hint of molasses or brown sugar or any “sloppy joe” flavor I’ve ever had. The pear and gorgonzola salad was Denny’s quality at best. Mostly iceberg lettuce, barely any gorgonzola. The pears slices were huge but… FROM A CAN. Totally tasteless. I expected MUCH better for an $18 salad. (Base price is $13 ish, I added the chicken for $5 more). The chicken was finely chopped with lots of dry pieces throughout. Also tasteless. Worst salad I’ve had in a while actually. Cheese curds were very good and the iced tea was fresh. The first time we ate here was subpar so we were giving it a second chance tonight. Sad to say we won’t be going back.

It was very good, just a little pricey for the area and a few smaller appetizer options would be nice. Overall 4.5**. Staff, Sara and Mike were excellent.

Based on other reviews (read after our dismal dinner experience) I think the most generous thing I can say is Gabby’s Rustic Eats is wildly uneven. Prices were unreasonably high not just for quality, but quantity. Food was terrible. Chicken fried steak was tough with gloppy gravy. Sloppy Joe was a waste of $12 (!). Servers and staff were as pleasant, service was very quick…no customers on a Sunday for supper should have tipped us off. Won’t be back.

Beautiful building, hospitable and knowledgeable staff, and the top sirloin special was on point, cooked and seasoned perfectly, and local family owned establishment. Will definitely return

The food was delicious and not terribly priced, though the service was minimal, likely from newer/younger workers. Unfortunately they have a serious fly problem. There were 20 or so flies in the corner where we sat, and they got increasingly active once food arrived. We were there with my friend’s extremely old grandmother, and it was already so difficult to get seated, so they didn’t want to move. After the meal I had to move away to at least stand in another area, but there were flies there too. -Somewhat tasty food though!
