Gabriella’s is an authentic Vietnamese joint that brings soulful Vietnamese street eats — banana leaf wrapped dumplings, various meat and fish platters with rice papers to wrap, king crab fried rice, charbroiled seafood to name a few—to East Passyunk. We know that authenticity matters, and our flavors carry authenticity in each dish.
Gabriella’s sister restaurant Melody’s Grillhouse first opened in Ambler, Pennsylvania, in 2019. With a lifetime of cooking and a true love for Asian food, Chef Thanh Nguyen called it her dream restaurant.
Gabriella’s Vietnam is in the process of adding a liquor license to the restaurant by summer 2021.

The best Vietnamese restaurant in the region — one of the all-time great BYOBs in the city. Affordable, delicious, creative, authentic, and everything you want from a cultural, culinary experience. Go now!

Good food, nice atmosphere. Cool place for BYO. Our favorite were the chicken wings, super crunch and flavorful! The server was very friendly but the kitchen was incredibly slow. We waited over an 75 minutes for our main dishes to come out and they never did so we decided to head down the street to another spot. Disappointing and since visiting I have heard many others have had the same experience. The restaurant is really cool so I hope they can get it together but they need to soon. Best of luck!

We ordered a spread! In ranking order: duck fried rice (phenomenal) crepes (shrimp free) (also phenomenal), Brussels sprouts, chicken wings, Dumplings (shrimp free), & tamales (pork & shrimp). Everything was delicious! You can’t go wrong!

The food is heavenly. My husband and I left knowing that we had found another crave worthy dish that we’d have to come back for- the catfish!

Gabriella’s is in Philly Mag’s top 50 restaurants for a reason. While all the food we ordered was absolutely delicious, what stood out the most to me was the service. It was our first time there, and John was attentive, friendly, and informative about what to expect for each dish, how they’re eaten, etc.

Did a late night dinner (9pm) here recently, and the food was very good. Had a variety of dishes (soft-shell crab, shaken beef, lemongrass tofu, catfish, and a papaya salad). Everything was flavorful and enjoyable. Service was very good – our waitperson took very good care of us. Also really liked that it was a byob option – so we brought a couple bottles of wine with us. Good dinner option.

Gabriella’s was an amazing experience. Really diving into authentic Vietnamese food, everything was beautifully made and so delicious, BUT more importantly refreshing. Besides the dumplings, every dish was served family style were you make your own wrap with the ingredients (so expect to get a little messy). The flounder was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The beef with its dipping sauce melted in the mouth. The creeps were amazing as well as the dumplings. Ever dish came with mint to add to your creation. The entire meal again was amazing and refreshing. It was a perfect place for a birthday celebration and also to experience something new. Make sure to bring a bottle of wine like a Resiling to match with your food.

Good food and service. Atmosphere was good. I would recommend this place. The drinks was a little expensive and not especially great. They don’t serve alcohol when I went. I’m not sure if they do now. But I tried to find places that sell alcohol and they all closed at like 6pm. So if you wanna bring your own, you better get it before you eat at this place.

Tasty. Fun menu choices. Friendly staff. Clearly popular. Coconut cakes were nice. Have the jasmine tea hot or cold!
