They were out of goat so I went with the beef and tripe stew. The cow foot soup has a rich broth

My meal here was my favorite among the ~5 hispanic restaurants I’ve tried in Morristown. Two of us shared Bandera (steak was delicious and looked dry but it was not at all, and the chicharrón was physically easier to eat than at other spots), Mixed tripe & goat stew (goat was super tender), and pupusa beans.

Best pupusas ever, Plato mixto with meat was delicious with the white cheese/crema… super reasonable prices.

$18 for frozen seafood ceviche…. never again… btw look at the back door entrance and the fridge it looks like it’s never been clean in years.

The pupusas are excellent, mexican style tacos are very good, camarones al ajillo. Avoid the ceviche its a frozen seafood mix with surimi. Not ecuadorian style. Stick with central anerican options

A honest review. Lets just say the goat stew platter I ordered for take-out was quite the disappointment. Goat on the bone adds ton of flavor but my gosh DID I GET MORE BONE THAN I DID MEAT. It was close to 1:5 meat to bone ratio. The stew sauce was very bland and whatever piece of meat I could eat was not that tender nor flavorful. The plantains tasted as though they came straight from a frozen GOYA box. All cardboard no plantain. Put here’s the best part. The platter came with a side salad. The salad was warm and soaked from the steam of the stew. Add another side to your platter dish and stop serving warm salad to your customers.

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that just makes great authentic food. Their pupusas are great and cheap. Their plates are big and flavorful, albeit a bit higher-priced, and their horchata is very refreshing. Two of us ate for $25 including tip.

Loved this place! The food was delicious and the ceviche in particular was a standout. Service was reasonably speedy and very friendly. It’s not as fancy or showy as the other restaurants in the area, which I think is its own appeal.
