We had an intimate wedding dinner in the Parlor Room and it was a fantastic experience! The service and food were both excellent! Wonderful atmosphere to top it off! They let us come in early and decorate too. Thank you to Teri and the rest of the staff.

Fancy feasting. My son and I enjoyed our brunch. This place was truly a great dining experience. My little picky eater, enjoyed all of his food. Great dining experience for adults and kids. The flavors of the food were so good.

We were passing through on the move across the country and wanted a nice meal. We have high standards as we have lived in Austin for the past few years and have become accustomed to delicious food.

The atmosphere here is quaint and cozy. It is a warm, inviting restaurant, and the staff are attentive and go above expectations. I was there for a business dinner, and the table ordered the crispy Brussels for an appetizer, and while the flavor was good, they were more steamed than crispy. I had the braised short ribs entree. The ribs were tender and easy to cut; however, I found the sauce a little too heavy and overbearing. The mashed potatoes were a good pairing and were delicious. The night ended with their bread pudding, which I would highly recommend to anyone. It had just the right amount of ice cream on top. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their entrée.

I called to make reservations for a party of 12 on a Saturday night and was thrilled that they were able to accommodate that size of a party during prime dinner time. The reservation was for my fiancée’s mom’s 63rd birthday and none of our party had ever eaten here before besides me. Allie was our server and she was very sweet and accommodating. My fiancée and I ordered a few cocktails: a French 75, a glass of their Syrah, an old fashioned, and a Manhattan, all were wonderful. We also ordered the mushroom turnover, delicious. We split two entrees, the lobster ravioli and the short rib. The ravioli was unique and delightful. The only reason I’ve knocked a star off was for the short rib, it was such a disappointment. We love short rib, it is typically so flavorful, tender, fatty, and juicy, but this was almost difficult to eat. It was dry and tasteless, and definitely did not live up to our expectations. Also, I like crispy veggies but many of the brussel sprouts were just burnt. No one else at the table ordered it, so I’m not sure if it was a fluke but my fiancée and I agreed that we were very disappointed. It almost made us fear trying the restaurant out again. Dessert did make up for the disappointing short rib somewhat. We ordered the Mississippi Mud Trifle and French press coffee and both were phenomenal! Overall, we really wanted to like everything and I really want to give this review 5 stars, but I just can’t. This restaurant is solid and has many wonderful items, please try it out! Just don’t get the short rib.

My fiancée and I had a 10:45am reservation on a relatively slow Sunday morning at Galley & Garden. Upon our arrival we were greeted by two hosts at the hostess stand. After letting the host know that we had a reservation for 2, the gentleman asked would we rather sit inside or outside. I responded that we would prefer inside. The gentleman looked at his seating chart and said “yes, I have the perfect seats for you two”. The “perfect seats” ended up being the seats nearest to the kitchen, where the most hustle and bustle occurs. Every 25 seconds there was someone urgently breezing past us, directly behind my chair.

Met friends for dinner. Food was visually beautiful and tasty. The cocktails were out of this world. The Dylan absolutely knew his Bourbon.

I HIGHLY recommend Galley and Garden for special events! I hosted my mom’s 80th birthday luncheon here last week- and Teri (even coordinator) was super easy to communicate with, and made the process smooth and easy, even though I live out of the country. The menu options- (rather than a set catering menu) was a really nice touch. And the printed cute menus for each place setting! The food was excellent- (I loved the shrimp and grits!) and the service was also very personable and professional- especially Jackson, who was very sweet to my mom. It was a very special day- and I’m so glad that we hosted the party at Galley and Garden!

My overall experience was ok. It’s a beautiful restaurant and our food was really good. The downfall is the mannerism of the host, Amanda, at the door. I made reservations for my 30th birthday and thought it would be really nice as in service. When my husband and I walked in, Amanda was not friendly nor welcoming. I told her my name and reservation time, which I called an hour ahead to inform we will be running late but not all my guest; she gave me a very dry “oh yeah”. After being seated while my guest were arriving, the vibe was very tense as if they felt bothered with a gathering of 11 African American people. Amanda kept walking back and forth staring at our area with a very disturbed face. Once my birthday cake arrived, Amanda came over and acted like she wanted to accommodate my cake by placing it in their kitchen/offering to slice it and then said “It’s a $25 cake fee”, which I was never aware of from the time I booked and also visited the location last week to see it in person. I asked her, $25 just to bring my cake in and she said yeah as if I knew. I do thorough research before booking anywhere and also checked their site again when she told me. I asked for the manager and he took a minute to come over to see about my concern. Once he came, I reiterated the $25 cake fee and he said yes it’s a fee. I politely asked him was it on their website, he was very startled that I asked, and I repeated myself. He stated no it’s told at the time of booking. I told him I was never aware nor told as many times Ive spoken with the other guy, I believe Stan, when I came and when I called to inquire a couple weeks ago. Stan was phenomenal ! The manager did accommodate not charging the cake fee, which I politely thanked him. They also grouped up talking in the kitchen several times. Our waitress, I believe Ali, was ok. She seemed a bit on edge, maybe tired, but when she was asked did they have to-go boxes she said “for what” and she was told it’s for my cake to be sliced and given to my guest by me. Will I return, wanted to but not. We were all uncomfortable and felt unwanted there.
