I had a great experience at their Ballard location, both the food and service. So I was really disappointed to bring my partner here thinking it would be the same. The staff was rude the entire transaction and acted as though we were inconveniencing her. Then the food came out. We ordered the trio which has 8 pieces of chicken. Well they give you 6 pieces of back that are mostly bone and two thin drumsticks. The seasoning was nice but not stellar like before. The coleslaw was horrendous. It was literally dry as though they opened the prepackaged shredded coleslaw mix into the bowl they served us and added nothing. The piri fries we also underwhelmingly seasoned. The garlic bread was hamburger ends. Definitely won’t be going to this location ever again.

I ordered the Galos Piri Bowl and it was fine but nothing special. My rice was undercooked and the veggies looked like they were frozen, not fresh. But my chicken was cooked well and it was very flavorful – I ate every bite of the chicken but left some of the rice and veg behind.

Just had a chicken wrap with med/lemon sauce and it was very tasty. The chicken was cooked perfectly! Spice was perfect for someone who can’t handle a lot of spice but still wants a little kick. Which is what I like.

Great food, great value, and they offer military discounts. I also have to give recognition to the cashier, server, busser, and cook Min. I know I have given her a lot of titles it’s only because she took on those titles with no complaints. Plus, her employer only scheduled her to work by herself and didn’t do their diligence ensuring this hard-working woman had coverage. Whether it was a mistake or due to low staffing in my eyes it is still inexcusable.

Food was very good and service was amazing. Had a young cashier who had a septum recommended me the galos bowl and it was amazing. The two workers looked very happy to be there and seemed to enjoy making the food. Very hard workers! Would eat there again!

I have no idea what any the negative reviews are talking about. We’ve been here like 5-6 times since it opened, at various times of day, and the restaurant has always been impeccably clean, food has been delicious, service really good. One star reviews should be reserved for disgusting horrible restaurants, not just because your rice was a little under-seasoned or undercooked. There was like, one time, where it was really slow, but it was a one-off. I think they suffer from high employee turnover, which isn’t surprising in today’s economy. Chicken is phenomenal, great sauces and sides (and the rice is great). There are some items that are better than others, but stick with the real chicken dishes and you can’t go wrong. My wife is from South America and she says this type of food is very reminiscent of a lot of the rotisserie chicken street restaurants down there. Galos is her favorite place in town. Don’t believe all the negative reviews from people who are just looking for overprocessed fried garbage.

I was looking for a restaurant in University Place that had non-fried food options and a friend highly recommended Galos. When I went in the employee at the counter was so friendly, sweet and helpful. I ordered several different options, including vegetarian items for my daughter. Everything was delicious! The chicken was so tender it fell right off the bone and was very flavorful. The salads and sides were perfect. We had the medium sauce (being cautious with spicier choices). It was amazing and next time we will move up a level. There is so much food that we will have leftovers for tomorrow (yay!).
