For those seeking the Route 66 experience along with an authentic New Mexico breakfast, you can’t do any better than this charming restaurant. Run by a hardworking family, the food was generous and well prepared. This will be a regular stop for us. These sort of places are being crowded out by the chain restaurants, so catch this place while you still can.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. The menudo is spot on. Get it with the pig foot. Also pictured are the tamales, which were delicious. It has become a tradition to stop in here when passing through. My only regret is that I didn’t think to get more menudo to throw in the cooler for later. I hope to be back soon.

Just left our hotel on a Sunday morning, after local school. There were plenty of chains… but this place looked amazing. We went in, and it looked like all the locals new to eat here. Everything has been absolutely amazing. From the red chili sauce to the pancakes and hash browns, and to the refried beans recipe from the Grandma of this family owned restaurant. If you are anywhere near here, you need to stop and have breakfast. If we weren’t leaving town, we would come back for dinner as well! Everyone is friendly, and they even had a local artist come in who was selling some of the handmade native style jewelry that he and his family had made themselves.

Beautiful family owned resturant for 27 years. Breakfast burrito and Chicken Enchiladas with fried eggs (over easy) were very delicious. Please stop by and enjoy a pleasant meal. The owner has some great stories.

Stopped for breakfast on historic route 66. The hotel we stayed at only had a bag breakfast so we went next door and had breakfast at Garcia’s Sunset Grill. The restaurant is small and is easy to miss. When you step inside you get a cozy and intimate feeling, a clean and relaxed atmosphere with Hispanic music playing softly in the background. I ordered the breakfast burrito with red chilies and my wife had the Garcia omlet. The staff was very polite and helpful if you had any questions. We overherd him pointing out pictures on the wall that were of his family. I would recommend this restaurant if you are in Gallop, New Mexico.

Don’t go there it is very expensive for what you get. Chips and salsa $5.95 and then gave very little salsa and asked for more and they charged another $2.5. So, $8.50 for very little chips and salsa. 2 small enchiladas and chips and salsa almost $30. If money is no object, go there but terrible value for one’s money.

Hands down. This place never fails. Always freshly cooked meals. We drive here everytime we pass thru the 40 going back home to Arkansas from visiting California.

Happy I found this place and took the time to stop in for a meal. Got a chicken burrito. Fresh tasting and service was fast. Guy running this place was on top of everything. Excellent service. Really cares about his restaurant. The red sauce with the burrito was best part for me. Unique take on the flavors and something that I really enjoyed. Felt comfortable inside, a real local spot with regulars coming in. Solid place.
