This place is a true throwback. The atmosphere is straight out of 1990, there are photos of little league teams still on the walls from 20 years ago! It’s a nostalgia that will either make you feel young again or make you feel sad about how old you are.

Joe the owner is a great person and this reflects in the products. Everytime I am in town I also order two pizzas and the three California cheese steaks. The pizzas taste great and are very reasonably priced. The California cheese steaks taste awesome. I highly recommend Gargano’s. Thank you Joe and staff for having my large order done when I walked in and for having great tasting food!

So for years I’ve been wanting to go here and I haven’t because I have a rule: I don’t go to places that don’t accept cards. It’s inconvenient and bulky to carry cash, not to mention if it’s stolen, there’s no way to get it back. But the consistently good reviews meant I couldn’t ignore it. It just so happened that day, that my wife had a check on her (a form of payment they also accept) so we decided to stop in. I have to say the dough is incredible and I think the pizza sauce is good enough to eat alone! We had, pizza, a boli, and bread sticks. Pizza was cooked where you have a nice crunch on the outside but soft inside. Really delicious! Bread sticks had good flavor but I thought slightly overcooked (which many would say about the pies but I liked that on pizza).I also thought the bread sticks needed more oil or butter with the mixed herbs and it was a little light on those herbs for me. The boli was good, not amazing. The stars here are the sauce – dipping or otherwise, and the dough and cook on that dough. I haven’t had them, but I imagine with them making their own bread, the subs would be excellent! I’m still perturbed that there’s no cards accepted given the year, but I can’t deny the effort in quality here- something you don’t find everywhere. I thought the portion size was large as well. Service was very kind and attentive and even offered me a cup to fill up water for free! Overall, I’m 25 minutes away and would go back, but it would have to be a convenience of me already being in the neighborhood, not going out of my way: especially considering the card thing. Decent food, nice size portions, fair price. Check them out!
