grew up in arroyo grande and ate here a few times as a kid, now it’s one of my go-to lunch spots when i’m back home visiting. classic “california” burgers, onion rings are amazing, have always heard good things about the shakes. the place is fairly clean, staff is friendly, and prices aren’t bad. infinitely better than in and out for a couple bucks more. best burgers in the county imo

Take out only. Sad to see the patio go unused. I’m visiting from out of town and wanted a burger and fries. Pleasantly surprised to see a menu with more than burgers. Settled on the pastrami sandwich chili cheese fries. The pastrami was the best this side of Brent’s Deli. Served like a proper pastrami sandwich with just mustard and pickles on a roll. I recommend the half order of chili cheese fries it serves two.

Garlands, a favourite of ours on the Central Coast. Everything is pretty good on the menu. I’ve ordered the turkey burger but the patty patty isn’t very good so I would say pass on that. Go for the onion rings – love them.

The perfect “mom and pop” Californian burger joint. I love Garlands. Wide variety to choose from. Seafood, burgers, sandwiches, malts and shakes. And great proportions. You, definitely get what you pay for. Just expect to gain a few pounds. It’s a guilty pleasure!
