We stopped into Gar’s (for the first time) for lunch one day while in the area. As we sat down, we got a tray of popcorn! I had the cauliflower/broccoli cheese soup, and it was so good that I still think of it daily. My husband enjoyed his clam chowder soup. The place was clean, the service was friendly and quick, and we loved the nautical decor. Can’t wait to go back!

Ordered the Gar special burger. It comes with a 1/2 pound burger with cheese and mushrooms. The mushrooms were straight out of the can cold piled high on my burger.

I was told to go here because they had good burgers. I was extremely disappointed the burger itself was made great…. if u like no seasoning very bland tasting burgers. I got their Gar burger special with no bun. I asked for crispy bacon, I got flabby bacon. The mushrooms were canned mushrooms that I believe they just scooped out of a can out of the fridge and put on the fresh hot burger they just cooked and piled a piece of cheese on top hoping maybe the cheese and mushrooms would warm up from the burger. Epic fail. Definitely won’t be coming back here esp to eat…..

We sat out on the back patio. The man that was doing a live show was way to loud. Had to pretty much yell at each other to talk to the people in our group. I ordered a fish sandwich and I’m pretty sure it was frozen fish. (Gordon’s brand) not sure why restaurants do this. If I wanted that I could have easily stayed home and made it myself. There were four other people in our group and they didn’t like their food either for various reasons. Not to sure if we will be back. I like food that’s actually made by a person. Not a factory.
