Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse Menu – Eureka Springs, AR

Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse is built around a 2-room log cabin built in 1864. Originally the home of John Gaskins and his family, it was a private home for 120+ years. Nice place to have a nice glass of wine or cocktail, an amazing bowl of mushroom soup, and a steak. Love the history of this 1860’s cabin! Would not suggest this place for the whole family with young kids- its a bit more sophisticated.

We were both greeted with a warm welcoming. Seated at a great table. Rena was our absolutely amazing server!! We both ordered the Prime Rib, one with mushroom soup which my fiancé said was the best he had ever had, I got the wild rice, and a Caesar salad. We paired it with a bottle of Stag’s Leap Cabernet. We will definitely be back on our next trip!!

We saw the reviews for Gaskins and decided to try it. Very thankful we made reservations, as it was busy! We had the New York strip and creamy shrimp linguini for our entrees, and both were very good. The surprising hit for us was the escargot… we’d never had it before and it was delicious!

A great restaurant for an evening out. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s the type of place you pick when you don’t mind the price. The prime rib was delicious. So was the escargot!

The service was terrible. We were seated near the kitchen and the waitress only came to our table three times. She never asked how our food was or offered dessert or refills or menu suggestions. She basically ignored us. We spent nearly $200 and were treated like dirt. The food was great but we skipped dessert because the service was so awful and we wanted to get out of there as soon as we could. The other waitress working the room was great but unfortunately we didn’t get her. I won’t go back. It’s a shame because the prime rib was to die for. But the prices were high. I’ve eaten all over the world and don’t mind paying high prices for good food, good service and ambience, which all combine to make the total dining experience is a good one. Unfortunately, this lacked two out of the three. UPDATE: the steaks were encrusted with a spice mixture that broke my husband out in a nasty rash on both arms that lasted for two weeks. The spices tasted very salty. Either the meat was marinated in MSG or the spices in the crust were loaded with MSG. Either way I will NEVER eat there again!

I loved everything about this place. The food is excellent ( and pricey for most folks) but well worth the $$. It is just outside Eureka Springs, but just a short drive. If you love great food, historical atmosphere & a place to eat without tons of screaming little kids, this is the place for you. We loved it & always return when in town.

The most disappointing meal ever. Made reservations several weeks in advance in anticipation of having a great dining experience. I ordered prime rib and have no idea what cut I actually was served. It looked like the end of a roast. It was well done rather than light medium and I could hardly cut or chew it. We left hungry. NO ONE, including our waitress asked it everything was ok, nothing! Of course it was rather obvious since the meal remained on the table. No one was at the door to thank you for coming or anything. Do not waste your hard earned money!
