We were thrilled that Gasthaus Edelweiss has reopened. You have to make a reservation and the hours are limited but it absolutely worth it. The owner is a fabulous cook from Berlin. The food is authentic, the atmosphere quaint, and everything on the menu is fresh and delicious.

Reservations required since they only have five or six tables so plan to call several weeks ahead of when you wish to visit. Dinner is a selection of about seven entrees made fresh. It was very tasty and authentic. Dessert was absolutely delicious!! Popular menu items can get sold out if your reservations are later in the evening so have a backup choice. Hopefully next time we will be able to try the chicken.

Our visit as usual was excellent Friday night. I was thrilled to hear from Ingrid that she was reopening with the help of her daughter. This lady is the real thing. I can’t wait to get my reservations for my next visit. You need to make sure to call ahead. Our reservation was for two weeks Delicious food, excellent, quaint, home atmosphere.

I just ate at this restaurant today for lunch, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. An “open gate” symbolizes they are open, which is Thursday through Saturday. The chef, Ingrid, is actually from Germany, and immigrated nearly 60 years ago. She states that her cooking is “just as my mother taught me”, and also adds that it is more authentic than what you will find in modern day Germany. If you have a love for German food, this is the place for you. The company and the great flavor is worth every penny. You won’t be disappointed!
