Wine & Spirits
Long Lake White Zinfandel (California)
Blend of Zinfandel, merlot, Grenache and a proprietor’s blush, this light pink wine carries floral and tropical aromas, including flavors of strawberry, raspberry and peach with a touch of sweetness. Pairs well with a variety of foods ranging from crab, creole, cream sauces and desserts
Leonard Kreusch Riesling (German)
Aromas and flavors of biscuit, nectarine, and lime with a silky, fruity, yet dry with a medium body and a tangy apple and citrus finish. Great for sipping or pairing with spicy foods
LaPlaya Sauvignon Blanc (Chile)
A delicate pale gold, this wine is 100% Sauvignon Blank, harvested by hand in the Curico Valley. On the nose, aromas of lemon, fresh pineapple with hints of lavender. It is a bright well balanced wine with a clean minerality on the finish
Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio (Italian)
Grown in the Italian Alps and harvested by hand. A delightful Pinot Grigio to be enjoyed for its aromatic crisp green apple, mineral and honeysuckle notes. This wine is the perfect complement to appetizers, soups, pasta, white meats and fish
Five Rows Chardonnay (California)
This wine shows good acidity and provides a nice balance to the ripe pineapple, pear, and passion fruit flavors. Just a hint of vanilla spice oak ends in a finish that’s clean and crisp. Aged in 100% French Oak
Lucky Star Pinot Noir (Lodi, California)
This wine was aged for 6-8 months in a combination of new and 1-2 year old French and American oak barrels, adding layers of toastiness and omplexity to the wine. Fragrant cranberry and red raspberry aromas carry through to the palate with notes of cedar, spice, vanilla with a crisp yet silky finish. The wine pairs well with seafood and chicken
Leese-Fitch Merlot (Sonoma, California)
With rich garnet color, this blend has aromas of caramelized apple, fresh boysenberry syrup, sage, and light clove. Carries flavors of red raspberry, cedar, dark plum, light cocoa, and pomegranate. The finish shows lingeringtart cherry, cardamom spice, and mocha.Pairs well with pork, rice, shrimp, or chicken and spicy dishes
Oak Ridge Cabernet (California)
It’s luxuriously fruity, and very zinfandel-ish: prominent licorice combines with fresh red fruit and vanilla, balanced by soft tannins and a touch of oak. Excellent when paired with red sauces, grilled meats and vegetables, lamb and chicken
OZV Red Zinfandel (Lodi, California)
Cedar, cherry, blackberry jam, cola and herbs waft from the nose. The palate is bigbig blackberry jam, cherry, plum and spicea fun and intense spice. There is a bit of coffeeand chocolate, lending a soft, smooth characteristic to the experience
Cryptic (California Red Blend)
45% Zinfandel; 25% Petite Sirah, 23% Bordeau Varietals (Cabernet and Merlot), 7% other red varietals. Tasting notes: elegant and seductive, with red raspberry, cherry and blueberry flavors, notes of roasted coffee bean, a hint of vanilla and a touch of mocha on the finish. One of my first experiences with Indian food and I loved it. All the other places I have tried are just missing something. I love the buffets. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is terrific. I get the house special as it gives a great variety or they have a dinner for two that is more than enough. Even two of us take leftovers home. They are family run and operated and also do a festival of lights that is spectacular. Look for them on Facebook for their specials!

Delicious as always. I really like how they give you the option of how spicy you want your entrees. Medium is just right for us. The staff is always helpful but not too intrusive. Excellent choice for Indian food!

We just came from here and I have to say, this place is so good! I never leave reviews on anything, but this just needs to be done. The staff was really polite and amazing, the restaurant has a really nice presentation, but man oh man the food is so amazing. Everything I tried was delicious and even though it was close to closing, the food was still fresh and delicious. They were still bringing out fresh naan. I know some people might be worried about the spiciness of this food, but Gem of India tends toward the milder side of things, while still giving it a nice kick. I can’t wait to come back here!

Disclaimer: review based on one visit. My wife and I visited the “Gem of India” for their Sunday afternoon buffet, on a very hot day in June 2018. The food was okay, but not exceptional, and the restaurant was so uncomfortably warm that we ended up leaving early, just to get some relief.

I go here every year on my birthday and every other chance I get. I leave stuffed and happy. I’ve been eating here for over a decade and other Indian places come and go, but their food is constantly fresh and delicious. I will say that I do prefer to order from the menu, but that’s just because I know what I want.

Gem of India has been one of my favorite places to eat in all of Springfield. The food has always been wonderful and the service has been great. The new menu change recently has made it more exciting and appeals more towards the Casual Diner. I highly suggest eating at this restaurant if anything just for the experience.

It was wonderful experience being here today. I love the food, great ambiance, great service. I tried the buffet during weekdays and over the weekend as well. Great variety to try, I love the vegan options. I will definitely come back and bring more friends and families. I recommend this place, keep up the good work!

We are spoiled as many of our close friends from the East Coast are native-born Asian Indians so we’re used to real homemade Indian food. The staff is great but the food tends to be very mild, particularly the buffet. Tasty but definitely made for mid-Western tastes.
