I would give the whole 5 stars but I haven’t tried everything they offer. I’m super picky but when they are open they don’t usually have everything on the menu. I also wish they were open more days and give notice when they’ll be closed during the days we expect them to be open. All in All they are polite and the food that I frequent there for is delicious. The dressing is amazing and can be eaten with or without a cranberry sauce or gravy. The baked chicken and the fried wings are good and seasoned well. The macaroni is good as well.

This is one of the few places in Detroit that has REAL Soul Food. I have ordered from here several times now and the food is flavorful with generous portions. The menu is a little different daily so call ahead. On the weekends go early. My favorites are the oxtails with gravy, smothered catfish, and thr fried chicken.

The best soul food in the area, hands down…the ribs are fire, the chicken seasoned perfectly, the mac and cheese alone is well worth it! Definitely try the banana pudding, it’s delicious…everything was the best!

I saw someone else kept posting about the food here. It took me a minute to go by but I am glad I did. Not only is the food good but the place is spotless & service is A1. I have been twice & my sister has also gone. We love the food & kind people. Its hard to find both in some places. You will not be disappointed. I have had the catfish, fried whole wings, oxtails & meatloaf. The dressing, spaghetti & peach cobbler is so good. Thank you Generations Bistro

I have eaten at a lot of so called Soul Food restaurants in Detroit and the surrounding areas. I am a self proclaimed Soul Food Chef myself. Generations Bistro is in the lead for the best soul food I’ve eaten from a restaurant. Chef Tommy has Blessed hands and he knows what he’s doing. When I don’t feel like cooking, this is where I go to feed my family. My Grandbabies love the Spaghetti. I love the Smothered Pork Chops and Dressing. My husband loves the catfish. Chef Tommy will forever have my support. His staff is very friendly and welcoming too.
