A simple yet solid everyday to casual date sushi place. For a good price, you can enjoy a fairly decent meal with sashimi (premium raw fish) and mouth-watering specialty rolls. The environment is relaxing yet still proper, and the hostess is personable yet attentive.

My boyfriend and I recently found this restaurant and went for his birthday. The food was phenomenal, everything was quick and everyone was very kind. It was so good we just also ordered delivery to satisfy our craving, and the quality is still excellent. One of our favorite places now for sure. Thank you for the food! Highkey wish I had a photo to add, but we just cleaned our plates and it made me want to come write this review!

My favorite place for delicious sushi, sashimi and special rolls. The presentation is impeccable, even when packaged to go. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and they have some very creative rolls I haven’t seen at other places. I’m a big fan of spicy scallop roll, creative, interestingly refreshing and delightfully light.

This Genki Ya is faaar better than the one downtown. The food is the same great quality every time, and the service and atmosphere are much better (unless you’re looking to party I guess, then go to the downtown one). And their prices are hard to beat for sushi, especially the lunch special!

I am former top notch sushi restaurant general manager in Austin. Ordered Chirashi (Sashimi on the sushi rice). Presentation was meh-. There was too many rice just to look. However, quality of sake and Maguro even hotate was phenomenal. Sushi Rice I recommend little more vinegar but also excellent. I would like Asahi beer to be restocked next time 🙂 Thank you for letting me enjoy good quality out of state. Definitely recommend this place.
