Have dined here twice. Overall the food is quite good, especially for Clinton (not too many quality options in Clinton). The beef tips Monday lunch special is good, just can’t say it is great. It was hearty and filling, just kind of monochromatic on the flavor — a good flavor, just not as complex as I think it could be.

As a fan of Georgia Blue in Madison, I had some expectations walking into Genna Benna’s in Clinton. We came in at 7pm on a Sunday evening. Three other tables beside us, party of two. So not busy, at all. It took 25 mins to get our drink order. I ordered a French 75 and was surprised when asked by my server if I wanted cognac or gin…of course i replied with gin. The drink was ok but served in a little kids party cup?

It took over 40 minutes to receive our food. We only received it then because I asked the waitress to check on it for us and it was magically ready then. The food was lukewarm when we received it. We also had to ask twice over the span of 15 minutes to get our water refilled one time.

Me and my husband have always loved Georgia Blue in Madison so I was interested in seeing how different the experience at Genna Benna would be. But same quality. Not the same menu items but we found items we loved. The place is cozy, so the live entertainment made it impossible to hear each other or the server. [Maybe turn down the speaker]

My first time to eat here and I was pleasantly surprised. We stopped at the new Clinton location. I had the cat fish plate and It was really good. 4 pieces of fish with 2 sides and hush puppies. Needless to say I was full when we left. Also, our waitress was outstanding. She said her name was Teresa with an H. Definitely going back soon.

Genna Benna’s in Clinton is a great little eatery on Clinton Parkway, about a mile past Highway 80. Good meat (I had the Philly Cheesburger; really good, though I would have liked to have it medium – I had a little bit of the Hamburger Steak as well, which was really good as well). The best Mac & Cheese I’ve ever had; some of the best fries I’ve ever had as well. And the salted caramel brownie with vanilla ice cream was great, too. Great service as well. And, if you’re a fan of classic rock, you’ll love it. Great atmosphere. 4 out of 5 stars.

The fried catfish was pretty good as was the salad and the hush puppies were delicious but the cole slaw was awful. Not enough mayo and no salt or pepper! The atmosphere was fair. I would go back to try something different
