Fantastic food and service! We did make a reservation, so I’m unsure about walk ups.

I came here not expecting 6 course of food. However the portions were small I loved the steak and omlete and the waffles. Live jazz music was great and nice ambiance although for the price of $70 starting I wish that included one complimentary mimosa. For unlimited mimosa was additional $30. Also the tax and service fee is pretty steep in DC not fully including waitress tip.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at a restaurant that left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. Despite its reputation and high prices, the lack of seasoning, dry food, and the excessive noise level made it an overall unpleasant visit.

Beautiful restaurant with a great vibe. We went for happy hour, which is a good value. The chicken sandwich was good but not quite what we had hoped for. The catfish fritters were excellent. Some of the best deviled eggs I have had. Service was mixed, with some friendly and some very unfriendly and unresponsive staff.

We were trying to find a very nice and upscale restaurant to go to, and by the reviews we thought this was the type of place, when we walked in it was quite different… The restaurant is decent, but it is not an upscale classy place. unfortunately, it seemed kind of ghetto when we got there. We were definitely overdressed in a suit and tie and a dress. There were guys there in jeans that were sagging past their bottoms and hoodie sweatshirts and reeked of weed at the table next to us, from the looks of many other patrons it did not seem the restaurant had any type of dress code. The service was decent. The drinks were strong. the fried green tomatoes were a little too tart so we did not eat them. That may have just been our taste. The stuffed shrimp dish was actually very good. It was pretty flavorful, especially the spinach and it was cooked very well. The cornbread that they bring out at the beginning was really good and sweet. As far as food and service they get four stars.

We were in search of some Southern comfort food and boy did this place hit it out of the park. Atmosphere is a little chaotic if you are sitting close to the kitchen area but the food is absolutely amazing. Had the fried steak and it was delicious- brought back memories of the South and that soul food that nana would prepare. Our server was phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable about the food and the kids who are picky eaters also enjoyed the food. If you are looking for flavours of faith in a meal then this is the place I would certainly recommend.

The restaurant was packed and so it was hard to hear the Jazz music on Sunday. Also, half of the dishes were amazing, while the other half of my 6 course meal was worse than what I can make at home. Very strange for a $70 per person restaurant.

Spectacular cuisine in the middle of the K Street business district in DC! The city is home for me, but I had to guess joining me from the Midwest. I was a bit disappointed in the time to prepare our meals – we arrived at 4 o’clock (start of rush hour), and didn’t get our entrees until nearly 5:30. But our server was so accommodating – continuing to refill our drinks and suggest appetizers as we waited. Although we didn’t like the delay (we were starved, as we were just coming from a day walking the African-American museum; this was our lunch/dinner), the food definitely made up for the gap once it arrives. Very pleased. And just as we were getting into our entrées, a jazz pianist for gas. It was uber classy and well appreciated. Will definitely come back, but just need to be prepared for any delays in the kitchen.

I came to visit DC & found this restaurant on tiktok. The waiter Blake was so nice & attentive. The food was decent. The cornbread was good, but I can do without corn being inside the actual cornbread. The food is a little overpriced for the quality. I would recommend you try it yourself.
