My sisters took me there to celebrate my birthday. We were SO disappointed after the rave reviews. We ordered drinks, it took about a half hour to get them– after we had to change our drink order twice because the bar was out of various items. We literally had to to go chase down the waitress to finally get our drinks! Waited another half hour for our food. We ordered a salad to share as an appetizer but it came as the same time as the food, the veggies weren’t fresh and it tasted awful. The sauce for my pasta was meh, pretty bland. Waitress rarely came to check on us. Having been a waitress I am usually pretty forgiving, but this service was pretty awful.

Avoid Gertie’s. Expensive, mediocre food and lousy service. I have tried Gertie’s several times and the results are always the same. I read gushing reviews, but have not had the same experience and live close enough to walk.

An absolutely wonderful experience! Drinks were tasteful, entree selection was superb. Everything was incredible and delicious! There was not one bad meal between our family of 5. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. 100% would recommend to all friends and family who want a quaint, upscale meal in the heart of the village. Perfect for birthday dinners, anniversaries or dates! Thank you Gertie’s, we will be back and spread the good word in the meantime!

Wow… a simple small town, one cross roads and this restaurant is there. The few people that live here are very lucky and spoiled because the quality, service, range of drinks, and prices were all 5 stars. What a great place for a week day business meal too.. if you are working anywhere around this town, plan a business dinner here, you’ll be very happy as will your business.

We arrived to find that they didn’t have the reservation I had made a week before. However we were able to get a table. I have gone there for many years because I love their Chicken Mars. When I ordered it I was told they “were all out”. I questioned how this could be possible since it was only 7pm. Finally the waitress admitted that they “weren’t serving it “ that evening, even though it was on the menu. The dinner I did have was alright, just not what I was looking forward to. I won’t be in a hurry to go back there.

Great service and meal. Loved eating outside and appreciate the cost atmosphere. There were quite a few things unavailable the night we were there but everyone enjoyed what they were able to order. The location was great and we liked being able to walk and wander in town.

Food is delicious, but pricey. Probably the best calamari I’ve ever been served. The salmon was great, but was served with a very small amount of veggies. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent! We were there on a Friday at 6 pm, no problem getting seated. It is a little noisy there.
