HIGH LEVEL PEOPLE & BBQ!! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Gessner’s. Traveling from Charlotte and wanted Texas BBQ (without the hype and long lines). The ratings are legit, this place is a hidden gem… has potential to really take off with the right exposer. Tender/flavorful ribs, jalapeño sausage were a hit, baked beans and potato salad were A1. Try this place out!!!!

Hidden gem! Fabulous brisket (tender and juicy) and the sides were so original- a wonderful twist on the standards. Loved the outdoor venue, tucked away and felt like we were in the country, not TW.. 🙂 Super nice owner, Lee shared with us his love of cooking and his family business. Friendly service. Could have sat there for hours and enjoyed the day…Highly recommend.. ! Am going back…

We found this place based off of reviews and we were not disappointed. The brisket had great flavor without being overly salted, peppered or seasoned. My husband enjoyed the sausage and the paprika potato salad. He said the beans with the chili but said they were just a bit sweet for his liking, but he enjoyed them nonetheless. We also had the banana pudding cake. It was really good! If we end up that direction again, we’ll be there.

Food is on point. Had the brisket breakfast tacos. They were stuffed to overflowing. Flavorful and very tex-mex. Proprietor was amazing and friendly. It has an amazing food truck in the junkyard vibe that blends well with the ample seating area. Five stars across the board, only because it won’t let me leave 10.

Excellent staff that work hard to make good Texas BBQ. Ordered lean sliced beef sandwich and chopped beef sandwich. Sliced beef had so much fat it was not edible. Chopped beef was good. Will try again as I don’t believe this is typical. Excellent sides.

Wow. Food was super good. Got the 2 meat plate (brisket and ribs with potato salad and creamed corn.) Bro got the 2 meat plate with beans and coleslaw. Also got the burnt ends on the side and banana pudding cake.

Amazing service. I wanted to try Colossal Chopped Beef Potato and didn’t regret. It was yummy! You should order first and pick up in 10 minutes in case you don’t want to wait there. The young lady was absolutely kind, and the food tasted super cool, I really recommend.

I can’t believe it took me so long to try this place out. Tucked off a little side road but worth the trip. The owner, Phil, is the man behind the business and he is there working the smoker. I tried the brisket breakfast taco this time but can’t wait to go back for the lunch menu. Taco was absolutely delicious with a huge portion of brisket, hash brown, fried egg. Love the bbq sauce flavor!
