The waitstaff was awesome! The food was somewhere between good and very good. The chicken fried steak was very good, but lots of breading. The catfish was good but didn’t have cornmeal breading, it was something else which was a little odd. The fried okra is like most other places who serve frozen from a bag.

Excellent food! Seems to all be made from scratch. Onion rings, great- crispy crust. Chicken fried chicken- great crust and tender chicken. Cole slaw, green beans, okra all fresh and delicious. Rolls were fresh and fluffy. We were full but had to order dessert. Wonderful! Will definitely be back to this gem!

My brother in law had been here prior and had a good experience so we decided to come check it out. I was bummed to find out they didn’t have frozen margaritas but they did have beer. We tried the fried onion rings and they were really good. They also brought out complimentary rolls. We had the chicken fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. Then another one with coleslaw and potato salad. (Which personally had a season that definitely stood out but wasn’t a fan of) Also had the Cajun fried catfish with fried okra and green beans. The chicken tenders with masked potatoes (which needed a bit more flavor) and upgraded a side for the salad. It was all mostly good food, some did a need a bit more flavor. Service was absolutely great, we had Slim!! He was just on top of it all! Great attitude and very attentive, kept up with our drinks!

EDIT: I have to make an edit to my in original review. I’ve been back a few times and everything was good. However, my last visit was very disapointing.

Food was very, very good. Service was a bit slow but only bc the waitress had to split a bunch of checks. Other members of staff provided refills during this time. Service visit to this restaurant and it was just as great as the first!

Nice relaxed atmosphere and great comfort foods. The best rolls ever. Excellent chicken fried steak and my personal fav, fried green tomatoes. Was a lovely time all around!!

The chicken fried steak with brown gravy had good seasoning. The fried pickles are different. The wait time for the food was very long. The service was good she did apologize for the wait time and explained the situation and gave us a free slice of cherry pie and thanked us for being patient. So good job to our server.

We have now tried this place three times and have been disappointed every time. I ordered the chili burger and expected the chili to be hot as in not cold to the touch. The burger wasn’t bad but after being topped with cold chili it wasn’t too good. My husband only had one bite of his sandwich. Three strikes you’re out…..we won’t ever go back nor do we recommend it.

The fried catfish was delicious, hot and lightly breaded. Unfortunately, they got our takeout order wrong and we didn’t discover they had missed one entree until we were home. Mashed potatoes were great, enchiladas were unremarkable. Worth trying other fried dishes again, however.

This was the 2nd time we’ve been here and we are very disappointed in the service we received. We first had 3 different tables who walked in after us and were sat down before us. Was given my salad with no utensils to eat it with. My salad was warm and the lettuce was soft. Rest of the food was okay but I don’t know if I will be coming back after this experience. To make matters worse, I get home later that night and my banana cream pie is a coconut cream pie and my sons Oreo pie is a pecan pie. Seriously?!?! How do you mix up an Oreo pie with pecan? Very disappointed.
