Was excited to try Gibson’s in Midway Ky. Ordered the steak tips with horseradish mashed potatoes and a salad. Salad was good and we enjoyed the mashed potatoes although we were skittish of the horseradish. The steak tips however were well done and we had orders medium and medium rare. When we informed our waitress of the “overdone tips” she looked and agreed with us but said the kitchen would not take them back. ??!!! I personally will not be a patron if Gibson’s again.

Sooo we tried this place because my boyfriend seen it being advertised on TV, and he felt like the food looked really good. We decided to go try it….I wasn’t impressed at all. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I feel this place is completely over priced. The food isn’t even mediocre. The atmosphere is Great, which seems like that’s what your paying for more than anything. I guess its that small town dine out feeling. However, the food isn’t what I thought it was going to be. We won’t be returning. Definitely will try something else in the area. The best thing was the bread and butter that was brought to the table. I was really surprised about the utensils, they need to be replaced immediately.

My family and friends celebrated my birthday last weekend at Gibson’s downstairs bar and had a great time. Cassidy was a wonderful bartender and all around great hostess for our evening. We all appreciated the hospitality and great atmosphere. The best gin and tonic I’ve ever had, thank you.

Been to this restaurant a lot and I just hoped for so much better but I wish we had Mezzo back. The salad is hardly ever fresh and has brown on it. I had to send it back 2x and then just told them forget the salad. Be careful if you have a party of 6 or more. ASK FOR AN ITEMIZED RECIPT. There is a service charge (which is ok) but they will just give you a receipt with a total charge and spot to write in a tip..little did I know I was about to write in a tip with an 18% service charge and tax already included in the total balance. Glad I asked for an itemized receipt and saw that. I actually would have tipped more than the 18% but when I felt like they were trying to cheat me and get a 40% tip. I decided not to.

BAR ONLY! We always stop downstairs at the bar when in Midway and have always loved it! Last night at 6:00, 6 of us had the worst cocktails ever! The only bartender there was nice, just very busy and didn’t know how to make old fashioneds (I think they were just muddled fruit and bourbon) or gin gimlets (pretty much gin with lemon garnish)! The 2-man “band” was not appreciated; we prefer to visit with each other, and that wasn’t possible. Why don’t you wait till 8:00 or 9:00 to supply entertainment, or have softer background music that wouldn’t drown out conversations? The lights were on full blast too…our cozy little bar with super bartenders is no more…we won’t be back.

On a bike ride early Sunday morning and one of our group got an injury. Although not yet time to be opened the owner welcomed us in and gave us special attention. Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and friendly staff made our unhappy ride a complete pleasure!!! Highly recommend everyone experience the best pork chop on the planet.

What a cool little spot! The wife and I went in on a whim to grab a bite after hanging out to watch some music down the street. Good food, good atmosphere and good service. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in Midway, KY.
