It was great service and the BBQ Potato with Pulled Pork was yummy… The fried pickles were too thin but their breading was good… The ranch dressing must be homemade, it was too thin for my liking…. My husband says the coleslaw was dry, I had to add BBQ to my side of beans…. My husband was not impressed with the brisket but the pulled pork he liked, also his dinner came with a thin pickle, BBQ is better with spears… I orginally started to give this post 2 stars because I felt the food was not as delicious as the cost but decided on 3 stars because the service was great and portions were great and when I left I was so full! However, I’m still not impressed by anything to truly recommend anything.

Gilbert’s has some of the BEST BBQ on the area, reasonable prices, and generous portions. The brisket is very tender, and the sauce can be a mild spicy version or a slightly sweet version. Try it, you’ll like it!

I really liked this place. Had the brisket and pulled pork. A little light on smoke and spices, but the texture was perfect. They give you huge portions too! If you are in the area, I would recommend trying this place out.

The only thing I’ve managed not to enjoy at this place is a matter of simply not enjoying the seasonings in their smoked sausage, I can’t say it was cooked poorly, I just didn’t care for it. Around the lake I’ve found most BBQ places taste very similar, and the biggest defining factor of quality is texture and moisture, and Gilbert’s has never disappointed me in this area. Like any place I’ve seen a table or two not cleaned off immediately when they’re slammed but the staff is on it immediately after the customers are settled and cared for. Always friendly, and staff is always on point. Fantastic option no matter the time of day so long as it’s between open and close. Eat here, it’s delicious.

What is there to say about Gilberts. For one the food is pretty dang good. Its worth every penny. I got there very often because of the food. Waiting staff is amazing. Yes they have staffing shortages but who doesn’t now a days. Give them a chance. Trust me you will like it.
