Gino’s Restaurant has been a favorite staple of the Baton Rouge restaurant community for over fifty years. Gino’s was established in 1966 by the Marino family including Vincent, Mama, Gino, Laurence and Frances. The family originated in Siculiana, a town in the province of Agrigento, Sicily, where Mama was born. Vincent arrived in the United States in 1955, followed by Laurence in 1957 and then Mama, Gino and Frances in 1958. Sadly, Vincent, the patriarch of the Marino family, passed in 1970, and Mama Grace, the beloved matriarch, in June 2017. Throughout its history, Gino’s Restaurant has been and continues to be 100% family owned and operated.

A rare Italian gem in Cajun country. The lasagna is the best. The pear mule is a refreshing drink if you like ginger. I certainly liked it.

Absolutely Amazing!! Worked with Ms. Frances to plan the perfect birthday dinner for my daughter. She was so kind and accommodating, making sure everything was just right. The food and drinks were top notch, and the servers were super attentive to our large group.

Brandon and all the bartenders were super accommodating at the bar. The recommendations were excellent. Veal, almond tiramasu, and the chocolate mousse cake. Thursday night’s dinner experience was extra special with live music. The 3 piece band was on point. My girlfriend had an awesome time! Highly recommend this Baton Rouge staple.

I love Gino’s and hate to leave a bad review, but this situation needs to be addressed. We had a reservation for a decent-sized party celebrating a milestone birthday. We all arrived in time. The first guests were several minutes early and were told the table wasn’t cleared yet. It was before our reservation, so no one thought much of it. After waiting 10 or 15 minutes past our reservation time, we asked if by “clear” they meant of dishes or diners. It was diners. The hostess went to look at the table and said they had their go boxes and everything on the table and were about to leave. 25 minutes AFTER our reservation time, one of us finally said to the group, “Do you want to leave and go somewhere else?”

Gino’s has been a local favorite for over 20 years (lunch and dinner). The food is very good and the atmosphere is “authentic”. Plenty of parking, decent prices, and it’s easy to get to most anytime. I think they have carryout if you want to go that way.

Very nice quaint Italian restaurant in Baton Rouge. Service was excellent (John). All the red sauce dishes were hugh. The salmon/shrimp was kind if skimpy, but excellent…all dishes excellent…moral of story if you are hungry get red sauce dishes and pass on salmon. The restaurant is handicap accessible with adequate park in front and back. Definitely if in BR give it a shot.

Gino’s was a tasty experience. We went for a belated valentines date. Our waiter John was very knowledgeable and helped steer us to some great menu options. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious.

Drove all the way to this restaurant from New Orleans only to arrive and be informed of a strict Dress code policy . I understand why but if there is going to be a dress code they need to put that on their website or inform customers when calling to make reservations. The food looks great but they lost a lot of money because of this unclear policy .
