Decided to stop in for an early dinner. Nice restaurant with a bar with seating and a comfortable dining room with nice tables and booths. Service was friendly and fast and portions were filling. We tried the Gio scampi, and the chicken francese and the meals came with pasta and side salads and bread. The meal was tasty and enjoyable.

Our waitress, was wonderful. Food, not so much. Three adults and two kids. One dinner sent back because of tough and off flavor eggplant parm. Shrimp scampi was ok, but served in a bowl full of broth. Kids pizza was good. But for $160, I expect everyone at the table to be overjoyed at the food. We will not be returning. Shame

Came on a Saturday afternoon, place was empty except for us and another couple. Food came out very fast and super hot, which was great because we were starving. The kid’s Margherita pizza was delicious, crust was perfectly thin and sauce had good flavor. The kid’s chicken strips and fries were good too-its a breaded chicken cutlet cut up (some kids can get picky). We started with the calamari which was just okay, not spectacular but not horrible either but wasnt a big portion either. Hubby got the Veal saltimbocca which he said was okay, couldnt give me specifics on why it wasnt good or bad. I got the beef tips pasta with the gorgonzola sauce and it was out of this world. Service was great, attentive but not overbearing. Would come again

We had dinner at Gio’s with my family Friday evening and it was amazing. The food was prepared perfectly and the service was exceptional. I enjoyed the Terra & Mare while my Brother In-Law had the Parmigiana. Both dishes were delicious. The other six family members had wonderful dishes as well. Thank you for the outstanding quality by Gio himself.

The negative reviews of this establishment are ridiculous. This is not Long Island or San Francisco. No this is not five-star gourmet Italian food. However, it is the best, most authentic Italian food in Macungie. Bread and a side salad with drinks that are not ridiculous expensive make this place a great value too.

Was completely disappointed by my entire meal and experience. My husband comes from a very Italian family so we had high hopes. It was highly recommended by friends. Antipasta plate was gross and not worth the money. Side salads were essentially just lettuce. I ordered the baked cavatappi, my husband the bolognese. No flavor at all. Greasy. We were severely disappointed And I have to say I feel like Olive Garden is more authentic and tastes better. The hostess who was the wife, was not very polite, she kept giving me looks and made me uncomfortable.

What a Gem. I have eaten a lot of Tony’s food back in the day in Hellertown. But Gio is a whole different story. The pizza and pasta are on another level. Incredible staff, and a great dining experience.
