Great pizza and cheese cake, really good experience after the Steelers game. The restaurant was. totally packed but we got our pizza and meal in less than 20 minutes, which was great. Overall, great experience – not the best pizza ever, but a really good pie for the price and location.

I want to begin by saying the staff here were working very hard. They were one of the only places down town that was open for a food run after a concert let out. I went in to the pizza shop in person to order. They had a line, maybe 10-12 people ahead. There were some seats open to sit down and wait. The line moved pretty quickly, but once I ordered and paid, it took 65 minutes for me to get one order of chicken fingers and fries. (Over $20.00 for four chicken fingers, one order of fries and two bottles of water). I was waiting close to the counter so I could see most orders were pizzas. I can understand the oven getting backed up but hardly any orders I watched get distributed were involving the fryer. I think a big issue was all the people ordering online then showing up for carry out. They need to shut online ordering down when they are that backed up. I never would have placed an order if I knew I was going to wait that long. Had I not prepaid I would have walked out. No one was happy. Food was so-so. Pizza didn’t look that great. The same employee was taking orders, running the register, answering the phone and picking up the prepared food that had been sat behind her and yelling out customer names to get them up to her to hand out the food. Again, they were working very hard, the system just wasn’t working. I would not return.

Good pizza and cheesy bread! Something about the cheesy bread felt nostalgic. As soon as we walked in, our order was ready. Quick service!

The Italian hoagie was good but why the burnt onions. I usually get them raw. When they put the lettuce and tomato, had to have seen the burnt onions. I see you only respond to positive reviews, so I will choose the other Italian restaurant across the street next time.

They offer one of the best brick oven pizzas in the city. They always have a pizza special and we always order one medium pepperoni pizza with ranch dressing on the side. The pizza is so satisfying and they use the best ingredients including the cheese which browns nicely on top. They have a pop machine which offers pepsi products and for dessert the New York Cheesecake is to die for at about 7.00 dollars a slice but it’s well worth the money. They have parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes to put on your pizza if you want to give it some heat. This is our go to pizza place overtime we eat in the city.

My husband had to go to the city today for an interview for a job and stopped here afterwards to get a pizza to bring home. He stopped here because it was advertised as voted the best pizza in the Burgh well I’m not sure why because it was horrible! I hate to give a bad review but the cheese tasted weird and the crust was not done all the way overall it was just a bad tasting pizza, I even tried to fix it at home with some spices but needless to say it did not work!! Sorry to the establishment and owner to say this but I’m so disappointed! I’m willing to try again maybe yinz were just having a bad day today?…

Great when it’s great. Sometimes it’s pretty bad depending on the staff. I’ve had really good experiences and at times I’ve had things half cooked or incomplete. Giovanni’s, please train your staff a little better, you’ll get a lot better reviews because when your food is cooked properly it’s utterly amazing.
