Absolutely loved the food. The staff was great and friendly. The course meals came in a timely manner and in between a course they gave us sorbet to clear our pallet. Highly recommend!

Amazing dinner!!! Arrived after many many hours of international travel and jetlag without much appetite but the delicious food and kindness of the staff turned me around. Exquisite dining and loved chatting with Jen!

Giovedi is a pop-up restaurant that features Italian-Asian fusion cuisine. They have a $95 tasting menu which is reasonably priced based on the portion and the quality of the food. I’ve dined there twice and I was pleased with the creativity of the dishes and the taste. My favorites are the crudi and capellini. The Calabrian chili crisp that’s topped on the fish is amazing and the scallop carpaccio with brown butter, miso, almond, and orange was sweet and refreshing. The protein in the capellini changes but I loved it with dungeness crab. The staff are friendly, and they provide excellent service. You can also do BYOB.

The world food travelers popped into Giovedi, a Italian-Asian fusion pop-up hidden away in the upper floor of the (closed) Vino restaurant in Restaurant Row. You enter through an unmarked door on the 2nd floor of the parking garage. There is a tiny Giovedi sign to the left of the door … It almost seems like you’re entering a secret club. Jenn, one of the owners, greeted us inside the door and we were led into a small space with (was it?) six tables so the room can handle up to 28 diners. It’s BYOB so I brought 2 bottles of Burgundy, and we opted for the 2013 Charmes-Chambertin from Gerard Raphet. I brought my own capsule cutter and two types of corkscrews JIC.

This is a great place to bring a date, family or close friends! It has a “speakeasy-ish” vibe, reservation only, evenings Fri-Sun, and if you do not know about the place or just passing by, it would be hard to find. What adds to it is that you can bring your own alcoholic beverages (BYOB) where you can call in the day before and they will gladly recommend what pairs well with the menu they serve that day!

Great food, absolutely terrible environment ruined by wait staff inability to even attempt to ask extremely rude and loud guests to respect other guests. They were friends of the staff so they didn’t want to offend their friends. I would absolutely not recommend this place for a nice dinner date. The staff described it as “casual dining” but casual dining isn’t $95 a plate. Everyone was bothered by their friends, they didn’t care.

I finally had an opportunity to check out Giovedi in Restaurant Row, and had an amazing time. The gnocchi and there take on ‘beef broccoli’ were my favorite dishes of the night! They need to bottle their calabrian chili crisp ASAP, because I’m already having withdrawals. I can’t wait to come back and check out their rotating menu.
