We were on a snowmobile ride with the women when one of the snowmobiles broke down. This was the closest place to tow it. So we had dinner before we went to get the truck and trailer. They had a cast iron seared pork blade steak special, my compliments to the chef the meal was spectacular I should have ordered 2 meals. This was the first restaurant that I have ever been to that has offered a pork blade steak. The staff was awesome, and so was atmosphere. Keep up the great work, everyone. I will be back at least twice a year on my vacations. Many thanks

Food was fine. Nothing to crow about. Michigan House has better food. I was surprised at how slow the service was. It’s not like they’re short-staffed. Three waitresses on duty. I made a reservation but it still took almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged at the door and another 25 minutes!!!! for the waitress to come to our table because she didn’t realize she had a new table. I mean, come on. I’m a local so I’m used to a more “relaxed” attitude about service that is so prevalent in the Keweenaw. Just two of us at the table. They’re aptly named. The service was glacial. Too bad. I had hopes. Won’t be back.

Excellent sweet potato curry soup! Garden burger was made with fresh veggies. Brussel sprouts were excellent as well. Busy night so getting food was a long wait but worth the wait!

Food was good. Service was less than stellar. Took WAY too long to get appetizer, then another LONG wait to get the watered down clam chowder, then ANOTHER LONG wait for the entree. Close to one hour to get the entree and when the server was questioned about the long wait her response was basically that it was no big deal. My husband was a restaurant manager for over 40 years and knows what is good service and what is bad. This falls into the bad category. I was really anticipating a good experience, based on the radio commercials and the fact that we live in Skanee – a 2 hour drive. We won’t be back.
