Walking into this place feels like being on the set of a Quentin Tarantino film. This isn’t decorated mid-century modern. It is mid-century modern. Opened in 1964 it appears that very little has changed and now 50 plus years later it’s back in style and very charming, as well as the family that runs it. The food is basically probably the same as it was when it first opened, nothing special, Tex-Mex comfort food. But the prices are particularly reasonable which compensate for the fact that the place hasn’t been updated in a while and probably is not up to par with modern culinary standards but it doesn’t matter. This is like stepping back in time and it’s a lot of fun.

My absolute favorite! I have been coming here for more than 25+ years. Some of the same staff. Same constantly delicious food. Always opt for the lunch special at lunch, 1 enchilada 1 taco, rice & beans. Their crunchy tacos are old school like my grandmother made in the 80s. Meat, tons of shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato slice. Simple. Delicious. Best salsa in all of NWA hand down. TRUST! Oh and the burgers and onion rings are legit fire too. A NWA institution. And the steak sandwich! Don’t sleep on it! Fast friendly service.

My family made a trip to eat dinner here. I had heard great reviews so we decided to give it a try. Upon arriving, there were several cars I the parking lot which I always feel is a good sign. That being said, we were very disappointed. It took about 20 minutes just to get our chips and salsa, not to mention several times asking the waitress for them. She claimed they are made to order so it takes time for them to come out…understandable, but not acceptable when other tables that were seated after us were getting theirs before us. Anyway, we eventually got our drinks, chips and salsa. We all placed our orders and indulged in the very delicious salsa! For some reason our side tacos were brought out first and separate of our meals which is very strange and not really what I wanted, but we ate them anyway and they too were very good. After this is when everything went bad. The rest and main part of all of our meals were horrible. My father and I order our dinner with queso rather than chili con carne and both plates come out incorrect. The waitress argued with us and said we only stated we didn’t want the chili con carne on the tamale which was very incorrect. She snached the plates from us and told us we would have to wait a while for the plates to be corrected. My aunts steak fajitas had absolutely zero season on them and were so tough and rubbery you couldn’t chew them, but she didn’t dare send them back, lol. My father and I eventually got our dinners back but this time instead of actually putting queso on the chili relleno they elected to top it with NOTHING. We chose to eat it as is and just leave. The waitress was super rude and short with us the rest of the time we were there, so needless to say, she didn’t receive a large tip.

(3.5) Prepare to enter a time capsule if you choose to try Glasgow’s. Inside it’s 1964 except for the prices. As a fan of things Mid-Century / Vintage I loved the atmosphere for the most part, new carpeting and some upkeep is desperately needed. It’s dark inside, much like I remember many old school restaurants, but missing those red glass candles that were always on the table.

I am a VERY picky eater, and I have to say…this place was AMAZING!! I haven’t eaten Mexican food that good in almost 20 years. Everything was great! Their salsa was hotter than I normally like, but was still very good. The service was good, and the atmosphere just as good. And the prices were just as amazing. I highly recommend eating here!!!!!!!

Delightful iconic Tex-Mex restaurant! Great selection of beers and wine. Guacamole was fresh and enjoyed by all at the table. Salsa was thin and spicy – loved it! Chips crisp and freshly made. Ordered Burrito encherito – bean ground beef burrito with cheese and enchilada sauce. Also ordered large comb plate – only complaint is the meat used was only hamburger – would have been great if it included chicken and pork too. You know a little variety in the protein!? As a result the dish while yummy was a tad boring with only hamburger meat. We loved dining in this old (circa 1964) restaurant – thank you for a great meal!
