We travel all over the US for work and this restaurant stuck out in fine dining. The service was excellent. The server had great recommendations. The Thai Turkey cocktail was one of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. It was the perfect balance and heat on the chili. Both the duck and halibut were delicious and we finished with the panna cotta.

Since this place is also a hotel, I wasn’t sure what to expect but the staff was very kind, the chef was awesome, and the food was FANTASTIC. Definitely the best food I’ve had in the area so far! Plus, the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. We reserved the chef tasting and had a 5 course meal (plus 1 extra) and everything was delicious and aesthetically pleasing!

My first visit to Glass Light Restaurant on corner of City Ave and Granby Street in Norfolk. Park in Boush Street garage. Be advised: Very popular parking spot. Shared a wonderful evening meal with my lovely wife. Very beautiful, inviting restaurant. We were greeted very warmly. Our reservation was confirmed and we were immediately seated. We reserved seating at the Chef’s counter. It is a bar type seating that faces the kitchen. We were there for the Chef’s Tasting. Our meal consisted of items from a menu created by the Chef Zack. During our meal, we had the pleasure of speaking with Chef Zack about each serving. We watched an amazing kitchen staff produce scores of delicious entries delivered by courteous servers. As entries were finished, plates were quickly removed and another set of utensils were readied for the next taste. Water glasses were quickly filled. Exceptional restaurant staff. Jami was our primary guide for the evening. She helped us with menu questions and made sound wine recommendations. She frequently checked with us to solicit our feedback and to make sure our evening was enjoyable. Jami was simply amazing. First time that I had eaten octopus. Loved every bite. Chef Zack creates sauces that compliment food, so take your time chewing. The seared tuna was cooked perfectly. Enjoyed every item served. There is also an art gallery connected to the resturant. Closes at 8p. Eat early if you want to visit. Worth the look. We will definitely return.

Went for my birthday dinner. Had a pretty good time. Beautiful aesthetic. Menu was limited but food was not bad. Drinks were great.

I would go back. It’s a little pricey not for the quality of the food but for the service provided. It is definitely lacking in that department. The Octopus is surprisingly worth it! I had my doubts about that price point. but it is the taste of Spain on a plate. The duck for entree was a solid choice as well, but no wow factor. I would still recommend it.

As close to a Michelin-star restaurant experience as we’ve had in Hampton Roads. Everything delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and artistically plated. Attentive service. Lots of balanced and well-crafted cocktails, best of all the Coco & Smoke. Butternut squash and burrata appetizers were fantastic and unique. Duck entree was savory and perfectly-prepared, and the burger with gruyere and caramelized onions was one of the best we’ve had. Chocolate Royale and Cafe Caramel Entrement desserts are both must-tries, especially the butter-rum ice cream with the Entrement, and man is that Royale mousse good! Apple Ice Cider was a special way to conclude the meal, like an apple mead/dessert wine.

This cute little restaurant inside the hotel is not to miss! As a local I didn’t think of stopping at the restaurants in the hotels. But Glass Light is a winner! The atmosphere is lovely, comfy, well lit and chic. Service was pretty good.

We ate the Chef’s Tasting at the Glass Light tonight. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It was amazing from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. The food, service, and atmosphere could not be topped. The kitchen was fascinating to watch and the food was amazing. The sous chef was in charge of the kitchen and meal and the chef should be proud. This was more than “eating out.” It was truly a dining experience.

My husband and I decided to have dessert at glass light after a night on the town and we were NOT disappointed. Our server Monet was informative about the items on the menu and even gave us some history about the hotel overall. She even took time to take pictures of us enjoying our much needed date night. The hospitality was unmatched and we will surely be back to enjoy other courses and hoping to enjoy the art gallery on the next visit.
