I live less than a mile from the Madison West location of Glass Nickel Pizza, which is very convenient a quick pizza pick-up. I’d give Glass Nickel 5 stars, if I was only rating their thin crust, tavern style pizza, because it’s very good. BUT, when you order your pizza online, they give you a pickup time for the pizza. The problem is, they are consistently very late on cooking the pizza for that pickup time. In my last 3 visits, I’ve arrived at the designated pickup time, BUT, I needed to wait between 15 – 20 minutes for my pizza. My suggestion, call them before you leave the house to pick up your pizza, to make sure you don’t have to wait on their wooden bench for 20 minutes.

It has a great pizza although it is not wheel chair accessible with a few stairs. Overall pretty good experience. There is no indoor dining though so you have to take out.

They made my pizza so perfect the way my mom wanted it as far to the edge as possible! A must eat place besides the cafeteria at the hospitals around! My chef salad was prepared perfect for me being on Keto and that was just a small! It was heavenly and I enjoyed it! I will come back for sure! The staff were so nice and caring, I would say if I lived here in this state one of my top 5!

Heads up, they hit you with a 3% up charge for using your credit card. I think this is in poor taste but I don’t go here enough to hold more cash to satisfy their need for it. Not a deal breaker to me, just a little like finding a hair in your food.

They have gluten-free and vegan pizzas that are YUMMY!! Their regular pizzas are great, too. Did I mention they also have a friendly and helpful staff. They are TAKE-OUT only, so keep that in mind.

I’ve been enjoying GNP for a couple decades, often touting them as the most reliable in town. Their place in my phone’s speed dial memory bank and that recommendation may change today, however. With no hyperbole, last night’s pizza was one of the worst I have ever had delivered, from anywhere. I ordered the Superoni– “Pepperoni, Boar’s Head pepperoni, cup pepperoni, clasic [sic] sauce, fresh basil & house blend cheese topped with cheese & herb shake”. Pie was delivered pretty late– 28min after I received the “out for delivery” email, and I live 1.7mi/5min drive from the Atwood location. Thus, it was not at all hot, but also waaaay overcooked. It was also pretty light on sauce and cheese, but very heavy on rendered pepperoni and cheese oil, which, while it sat in it’s box for half an hour, seeped out and permeated the cardboard. The “fresh basil” mentioned in the description amounted to, if I’m being generous, four small torn pieces of what I have to trust was basil at one point in its life– not even one full basil leaf. There were a few other tiny shreds found elsewhere, still not amounting to much. As it was discovered on my pizza the basil could have also passed as expelled chewing tobacco or a thinly sliced mushroom that was peeled off the bottom of someone’s shoe. The dough was blasted from above yet extremely floppy underneath, and swimming in its own grease, and also seems like it was at least a day old– the chew and crumb were that of old dough. This is actually the second subpar pizza from GNP in the last six months. I hate to say it but they seem to be going the way of Willy St Roman Candle a couple years back, which is to say…. not good. Two stars and not one because I still love them and want them to continue to succeed. But honestly, this was a one star experience at best.

Glass Nickel is great! The Chicky Chicky Parm Parm pizza is amazing! And the salad, full-size, is huge- like tray-sized and always so fresh and delicious! One of my favorite pizza places in Madison! Love the Nickel Nuggets as well!!

Love glass nickel and we support and have eaten at all the locations! However, the way I was treated at this location by a young lady was uncalled for. Yesterday, I went in to pick up my order at this location, waiting towards the back. There was only one employee at the front, which was fine and I waited patiently. I saw another employee who had her mask on, come up to the register, we made eye contact, then she turned and walked away. My boyfriend who is closer to the register, turns to me and tells me says “oh she said hello”. I felt terrible because I did not hear her due to the mask and I did not want her to think I was ignoring her. When the employee comes back around, I do a little wave to get her attention, and as we’re walking up to her, she looks at me while waving her arms back and forth aggressively and says, “Do you want help or not?!”. I was embarrassed and so upset by her reaction. The only interaction between us was eye contact, how could she be so angry and rude? What if I was deaf or hard of hearing? I hope you guys don’t condone her behavior just because she’s frustrated. Then she proceeds to tell me there were no orders under my name after I had just called 15-20 mins earlier, so I had to give her my order. Kids these days can be so impatient and rude.

While it was a long wait for carry out, we just waited in the parking lot and how can you even be mad how busy they were. It was snowy on a Thursday and they must have had six+ drivers going in and out of there constantly, we were amazed. But once we got our food and got home, that pizza was bomb bomb!! Worth the wait and exactly what we both wanted. The smalls were great for one, plus leftovers and my little side salad was so bright and fresh!! Plus she gave us a coupon! All in all, definitely our go to for pizza now. Definitely going to be more than a domino’s or whatever, but entirely worth it. Can’t wait to try all the specials and I’m happy they are local.
