it was my first time here, trying their dish, I thought Ramen is the top dish in Japan, the guy at the counter told us it was Japanese Curry.

Staff was nice. Ordered the Grand Slam(pork)…food was good, but there could have been more curry sauce. The shrimp was good…would recommend. Pickled radish didn’t have much flavor and was pricey for the amount given…wouldn’t recommend. Overall tasty and I’d go back.

Pretty close to how it is in Japan maybe the amount of rice is lacking vs japan. I personally came to get a gyudon because not many places nearby does a good one, but ended up practically ordering the entire menu to to. Personally I would prefer a little bit more rice, but when I come here I usually make some rice at home before picking up my order so no biggie.

When I look at the ratings for the restaurant, it was great to try. However, after trying it, I am really disappointed. The shrimp had a thick flour coating. I can taste the mushy flour taste. Also the shrimp is really small. The pork is too dry and chewy. The egg is cold, maybe it is intended to be cold. The only ok item is the sausage. The curry is absorbed by the rice which making the rice too soft and the rice is just warm.

This is a fast food Japanese style curry joint. The food is tasty, but perhaps just a tiny-tiny bit salty. The portion sizes are a reflection of the post-pandemic era and not as filling as expected. The staff are very friendly and the premises are very nice and clean.

I ordered the home run with my girlfriend for lunch. It was pretty good but there were a few reasons why I couldn’t rate this higher. First of all, though the presentation was good, I felt that The amount of curry was just not enough. Also, most of the curry just was absorbed by the rice which took away from the Curry experience for me. I think that if the curry was on the side it would just be a better idea. The pork and the shrimp and the sausage were very good but nothing was really mind-blowingly tasty. It tasted exactly how I expected it to taste, by that I mean it didn’t go beyond my expectations. So I am satisfied but I’m not blown away. not sure I would order again.

As an Asian Rutgers student, there are only a few authentic Asian restaurants to choose from in Newark, but Go!Go! Curry never fails to satiate my appetite for some delicious, umami Japanese curry. My go-to meal here is either the Chicken Katsu Curry Bowl or the Home Run Bowl, both of which taste amazing. I will definitely come back again and again! Thank you for the delicious food!

It’s way better than making Japanese curry at home despite the ready made curry cube sold in every market. The difference is the piece of deep fried breaded protein that is crunchy outside but juicy inside. Portion might be right for Asian but a bit smaller compared to American fast food standard
