I always enjoy modern and innovative fusion concepts, so I thought I’d give the crispy nori sushi tacos a go. Mine was the spicy tuna; it was served in a holder atop a heavy duty plate, which made for a funny image when juxtaposed against the plain plastic cafeteria tray. The seaweed “taco shell” was crunchy and unique, and the sushi rice was quite good. The tuna filling was cubed precisely and topped with green onions.

Spent $8 on a hand roll and was expecting something at least sort of substantial, but it came out more like a little maki someone had forgotten to cut into pieces. At least bulk it up with some more rice or a veggie to make it feel somewhat worth it. The salmon wasn’t even that good. You’re definitely paying for the ~vibe~ more than the food at Time Out Market but at least with some of the other restaurants the food is actually solid. You can get better sushi at the grocery store.

To start, the only positive thing about Gogo Ya was how crunchy the nori shell was. We ordered the Spicy Torched Hamachi and the Torched Salmon Teryaki tacos, and the filling was nothing special. The rice, tuna, and salmon all tasted like they lacked the most basic of seasonings. The service was the worst part; my girlfriend was ordering, and they barely acknowledged her while they took the order because they were having conversation that was clearly more important than attending to customers. While they were taking 20-25 mins to prepare 2 tacos, I witnessed them laughing and conversing while not paying attention with 2 live torches in hand. When I finally went to get the food, they didn’t acknowledge me or even hand me the food, I had to grab the tray, and they still said nothing as I walked away. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it….definitely not worth $20 for 2 tacos.

I’m gonna echo everyone else here — these tacos are expensive but they are perfection. The current price is 2 for $20 (as of 1/16/2022) and the tacos are not particularly large, but this is hands down the best “fusion sushi” item that I’ve ever had, and I’d rather eat here than at most sushi restaurants.

Certainly not something you would eat every day due to the price, but these sushi tacos were certainly tasty. Reasonable meat-to-rice ratio as well.

I love the Asian cuisine but I have to say, this place was a little disappointing. The prices were pretty high and the ingredients didn’t taste too fresh. I don’t know what else to say, it wasn’t impressive

Ordered the sushi taco twice in a row since it was so good. The seaweed shell is very addicting and the salmon is so yummy. I have not tried anything like this before so thanks for bringing those items to the market.

The sashimi bowl gave me stomach cramps and an unpleasant bathroom experience an hour after I ate it, even though I ate it within 15 minutes of picking up my order. I eat a lot of sushi with the same ingredients and this never happens. It must have been a food preparation or storage problem. Hopefully just an anomaly.

The sushi was very underwhelming, lacking enough fish- mostly cucumber. Very expensive, $30 for two rolls.
