I have been eating at Gold Star and Skyline for close to 50 years. I like both but prefer Gold Star. I have to say I have never eaten at this location before and was blown away by how awesome the crew is there. Cannot say enough about the service. The openness and helpfulness were simply outstanding. I have dined in Michelin 2 star restaurants in the past (well, way past) and I felt the service/attention was just as good and the people were simply awesome! Just because it’s a chili dog doesn’t mean you can’t do everthing right. This team did.

Why are you even open if “you’re out of cheese conies?” I’ve been out of town for a few years and missed gold star. I finally go get conies after waiting in a line wrapped around the building just to be told there are no hot dogs available. Super disappointed and happy the company got dropped by the Bengals.

Good food, chili was good not my style but still tasty, the most surprising thing was the Bacom Cheeseburger, patty was delicious toppings were fresh and put together well, one of the best burgers I had at a “fast food” joint.

I don’t truly understand how this gold star charge for a small cup of water with a $15 purchase, and Jill was non caring about how I felt. It’s very unfair and her comments towards my complaint was unnecessary and rude, people are struggling with the rise of prices and really need a cup of water with no charge on top of the expensive prices! Customers should get a big cup of water if they have to pay for water here.

Ordered a 3 way meal and double decker sandwich, $26.07. I get home and there is no shredded cheese (3way) with my order. So I call to see how this can be rectified. Team lead/ manager informs me I can drive back 20 minutes away and get a “bag of cheese”. My order was not complete. An apology could have gone a long way. Having visited this location (and its previous address across the street) for decades, I’ve made it my go-to Gold Star for the best in the city. However, this order was the worst Cincinnati chili experience I’ve had, and that includes Blue Ash Chili in the 1990’s and Camp Washington Chili in the 2020’s (so I know how low the standard can get). The chili burger was disappointing and my favorite 5-way and cheese coney were unrecognizable, down to the inferior onions. Skeleton crew requiring drive-thru only makes sense, but it tastedlike the entire recipe was thrown out (which is what I almost did with this meal).
