This was the first time we have been to a Golden Corral Buffet & Grill in Illinois, and have given a 5 star rating! Upon entering, we were greeted with such a welcoming vibe from the young lady at the ordering/front station. Such an excellent variety of food to choose from. The food stations were continuously stocked and wiped down. The food items were super fresh, not dried out like most buffets. The tables were quickly cleared and wiped down. The traffic was amazingly quick, people right in and right out. Our waitress was super friendly, quick to never let our drinks go empty, and have our plates cleared, she was WONDERFUL! The store itself was super clean, with fully stocked restrooms. All the employees were very busy and worked extremely well with one another. What a great experience, when we are back this way, we’ll definitely visit again! 5 stars for above and beyond service!! 🙂

Under normal conditions everything is five star, however this time the food was not as good. The chicken was overcooked, as was the shrimp and a few other things were dry. The cashier was awesome and friendly, the waitress however needs to learn how to warm up to people. But as usual I will go back they are usually five stars all the way.

My niece and nephew adopted 2 awesome kids at the courthouse there in Springfield and we chose to have a family luncheon there at Golden Corral to celebrate this joyous time. Everything was wonderful during our luncheon. We had plenty of room for all of us.. I especially live the idea that there was so many choices in what to eat. it was all good

The place had food all over the floor. The dishes had yellow and brown stains. The Steak was burnt no flavor over cooked. Nothing was in stock. Maintenance was bad. Food was scattered. Fruit mixed with meat. Don’t recommend. NEVER COME! Bathrooms were all wet and only one nice person.

Though not our first visit here by far, this was the most impressive. The food was extremely fresh, hot, and the staff was doing a great job of keeping things stocked, and tables clean. Our server, Morgan was so friendly, and cheerful, and did an excellent job of keeping our drinks filled. She was one of the most impressive young gals we’ve ever been waited on there, by. This, of all GC’S I’ve been to in several cities and states, is my favorite. The buffet selection is vast. Of everything I tried, the fried fish was melt in your mouth tender, and the hush puppies so crispy, and fresh. I don’t like when they’re dried out.

If you’ve ever had a bad experience at Golden Coral, don’t worry, you won’t be here! We stopped for breakfast, and they did not disappoint! Mike was cooking up omelets, and It was a work of art, both for my eyes and stomach! The livley manager was seen throughout the dining area, making sure people were taken care of, and she also was managing her people perfectly. Golden Corral, this manager is trainer material. Coming from a restaurant operations background, you need to clone her and Mike the Omlette maker!

Typical buffet food. Pass on the prime rib; tasted nothing like a good rib should & had lots of fatty pieces. The fried shrimp was my fav thing: it was about all I ate! I was also disappointed that this particular location did away with the plastic gloves for patrons to use at the buffet. It made sense to keep these, as it helped with cleanliness. Probably won’t go back, at least not for a long time!
