Today wasn’t the best day for the Golden Corral in Watt Ave. North Highlands, CA. Taste were off (seasonings) on much of the dishes. I should have asked for a temperature check on the food, at 11am opening time. But I dismissed my first plate and continued for a retry. I stirred up the food items in the trays first and scooped from the bottoms of the trays next. This worked out mush better. The fried chicken was the most flavorful. Desserts: Ice cream was the safest to enjoy, and the server that had all the tattoos he was so friendly bless him. So I hope to see better reviews from other folks!

Golden Corral was day of Nostalgia. Me and my friends went to eat and they ate so much, they were upset, full as hell and complained about everything. Paula and Frances had a good ole time. In the photo Frances got mad because the photo showed her 3rd plate in front of her. Enjoy your selfs when you go.

The Golden Corral Buffet saved my Easter, and I’ll tell you why…I had to take my old pal Tick Trombetta up to Sac. so he could have Easter with his extended family. We could hear them screaming at each other as soon as the truck doors opened. I asked Tick if he still wanted to go in, he said and miss out on all the fun! He said this is mild, two years ago 3 had to go to the hospital and 2 went to jail, I sure love the holidays with family, he said.

I love Golden Corral in most places. This one in Sacramento is just… okay. Nothing spectacular about it. Anything you expect at a buffet is happening here. The food at least presented clean. The staff behind the counter wasn’t really attentive, there was a wait for them to cut meat even though no one was in line. Our server JUAN was amazing and sweet. I give JUAN 100 stars. We came with a big group who ended up singing and celebrating a birthday party. We sung so much we ended up being told to stop. We understood. Most people were friendly (other guest). Oh and the manager on site was a hottie and super friendly. I appreciate his attentiveness. The staff who process payments at the door were friendly. Other than that the restaurant and food was unfortunately mediocre. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a buffet so it could be that. I was mainly sad beer battered fish ended up being chicken. The fried catfish was too soft, the shrimp looked scary, the cabbage made me sad. So all in all I ate mac n cheese, corn and the bourbon chicken. I give the restaurant 3 stars but the manager and JUAN got 100 stars for being awesome.

It was alright, the food was good overall, some things did not look appealing or were overcooked while others were great but this happens at busy time and place, service and employees were great, but some of the other customers were less than great to be around, dropping food off their plate while at the buffet and just walking away, letting their kids run amok.

If your looking for a final meal this is the place to be. It looks like heavens waiting room and the decor is all from the late 80’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if the food was from the 80’s as well. I bit into the chicken and it was like I was pouring fryer oil down my throat. The salad bar had wet salad so not even the salad was safe. The yeast rolls and the cheddar rolls were your safest bet and I think that’s because they were made from a red lobster bread kit and a Texas roadhouse bread kit. All in all I am leaving this place most likely with food poisoning, 15 bucks less in my wallet and a very unsatisfactory visit!

We visited again when we were in Sacramento for football! Other families joined us & agreed about the greatness we told them about. The waiter was good, kind & attentive so we all tipped. The kids (7 of them) ate til full & of course got desert. This is an update of last 2021 year’s post.
