Very good food. Stopped here to eat supper on a road trip. Food was fresh and hot and service was good and fast. It had a more homemade taste than chain buffets. We were very pleased.

Horrible experience. Service was extremely poor. No one at the door to seat us. When someone finally came out she said “Sit anywhere”. We sat and she brought our menus and got our drink order. When she brought our drinks she wanted to take our order but would not let us order what we asked for. Finally ordered something and she commented negatively on what we ordered. Whatever.. moving on… Got our food and the chicken tasted sour… mind you, I did not order sweet and sour chicken. This chicken was just bad. Didn’t get drink refills and no one came to see how our food was or of we needed anything. I decided not to make an issue of it and just pay and get out of there… y’all the bill was way more than I would ever have expected to pay. I didn’t pay attention to the pricing when I ordered so I was shocked when I heard it was over 40 dollars for 2 of us to each eat an entree, 2 egg rolls and a drink. I wouldn’t mind paying that if the service and food had been good but for such poor service and (what tasted like) rancid chicken I was disappointed, to say the least. I paid my bill and she handed me 2 fortune cookies. Now surely they couldn’t mess up a prepackaged fortune cookie, right?? WRONG! The fortune cookie had black spots all over it which reminded me of mold. May have been something completely harmless but it certainly was not appetizing. Seems to me they don’t do much business and I can definitely see why. Those cookies have probably sat in a box for a long time. I will never go back there and now I can see why their parking lot was empty! Zero stars.. Do not recommend!!! (See photos)

Best egg rolls in the state of Texas. Have eaten at over 100 different Chinese Restaurants from Texas to Florida and the Golden Dragon is on the top of the list. Some places have a wider selection, but for over 20 years, have never had a bad experience. Food always top notch!!

Food is overpriced for its quality. Quantity was fine but much of the food tasted like cigarettes. The chicken chow mein had very little chicken in it. It was mostly cabbage with sauce. The egg foo young was drowned in a salty brown gravy and was mainly bean sprouts. However, the service was very nice and prompt.

Food Awful. Servers Cinnamon tasting fried egg rolls, chicken chow mein description on menu and as served only shows the vegetables mounded on plate until you start to stir in your rice. There only about 1/2 cup of the chicken chow mein which was piled hiding the stale hard crunchy noodles under it. Inedible noodles in my family’s opinion. Chicken lo mein was spicy, my daughter couldn’t eat it. My husband only got full fornhe ate hers. The only thing good was the sweet & sour chicken and egg drop soup.

It is very nice restaurant. We had the won ton and it was hot and delicious. We got steamed rice and egg rolls . The egg roll came with different dipping sauces . They were very flavorful. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The restroom was clean also . The service was prompt. I would recommend them and definitely go there again.

The service is very slow. Once you realize it’s a elderly couple doing everything together it’s more understandable. But I can promise you the food earns this place a 5 star rating. Was well worth the wait. Next time im in childress it will be at the top of my list for places to eat at. The portions are ginormous also

Stopped here late Sunday evening 4/25/22. We were the only customers, 4 of us. I don’t know what the other negative comments on here are talking about, although maybe they all meant a buffet we didn’t experience. Instead, we ordered lots of stuff off the menu. Owner was our waitress, she was super efficient and pleasant. Every thing not only came out tasting great, it was all awesomely different from your typical Chinese American standard. Yes, it was same dishes, but each had their own flair. Cabbage in the egg rolls fresh, everything very home made. Egg Foo Young had a cool grandma type brown gravy. My pork Lo Mein had great tasting house roasted pork, great flavor. Crispy sweet and sour chicken. And three table sauces that all taste unique and surprising. My wife Melissa worked there back in ’93, and it was also fun to see a place she had such fond memories of. Lastly, the place was immaculate. No dust on tops of frames, fan blades, vents, anything. No sticky spots under tables or chairs. Ever corner vacuumed and tidy. Freaking 30 year old wall paper with no stains or sticky texture. These folks run a tight ship and cook food worth trying.

Will not return! My daughter wanted to add mushrooms to her food, I told them I am more than happy to pay extra, they refused to let her add the mushrooms and made her pick something else. We both ordered chicken dishes but what we got were bowls of noodles with a ton of onion and spices and LITERALLY I got 4 tiny pieces of chicken and she got 6. When I say tiny, I mean they were TINY. It all tasted like it came out of a TV dinner box. We paid $28 and left hungry.

Price to give four people the equivalent of a snack here is $60. A lot of other reviews mention small servings but nobody talks about the over use of breading to make your meal look bigger. Would have never gone here if I read the reviews
