Amazing meal. First time there and highly impressed. The clan chowder rivaled any I’ve had in cape cod MA, which was very surprising. The traverse City salad upgrade was excellent. The home made rolls were outstanding. I got the duck and it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Awesome find!!!

When first walking in, you might be put off by the slightly dated interior. You’ve already gotten over the fact that it’s in a strip mall so don’t let the interior deter you! Seriously, I was skeptical too (admittedly, I am a little picky, and a bit snobby!). But, I soldiered on and was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness and playfulness of our server, and the quality of the dishes that were served. We had the Caesar salad which was dressed table-side. It has been quite some time since I have experienced that, but it felt like a cool throwback to the ’60’s steakhouse era, and was delicious! The rolls they serve were buttery and chewy and I could have eaten them for days. I cannot recall the fish my husband had (I think perch), although I do remember him saying it was fantastic. I ordered the whitefish which came atop rice pilaf with a little topping of onion and tomato. The fish was fresh and was complemented by the lightness of the topping. I wouldn’t have believed it upon sight, but this proved to be a great experience and a fabulous meal. I guess it’s true that you shouldn’t judge a book by its’ cover or a restaurant by its’ strip mall location and slightly dated interior!

Wow! Amazing meal and we didn’t even know this restaurant was there. You can’t see it from the road but our friends suggested it. My husband and I both had the tenderloin medallions with portobello mushrooms. Delicious! The side was fantastic too. Generous salad to start the meal with the house dressing that was yummy. We would definitely recommend!

Never had a bad meal here! 10 oz Prime rib special on Monday (and Saturday) for $23! One of the best we’ve ever had! So tender and delicious! Kudos to chef Don! Great clam chowder and salad, tasty hot bread! The complete meal. And old style ambience with excellent service! Thank you for being consistently great!

1st time there and all those good reviews are validated. Don’t be fool by the look and the location next to Dollar Tree. The food and services were excellent. The lemon sauce under the calamari made it exceptional. The upcharge of Ceasars salad and Traverse City Cherry Salad were worth it. The Gouper with Angle Hair pasta was cooked in perfection. Pan fried Walleye was as good as all other reviews said. Along with the friendly and courtesy services from our waitress, Lena. We are sure coming back.
