Golden House Chinese Restaurant is a nice family, owned and operated restaurant in a strip mall just west of Howell.

I gave 2 stars because the crab Rangoon was good. In my opinion, The silver noodle with chicken was nothing like described. The noodles looked like big worms and was tasteless. Only vegetable in it was large slices of onion. Mongolian beef was just as bad. Looked more like chop suey. Tasteless and meat was fatty. I hate to give local restaurants bad reviews but I also believe in telling my truth.

I have been to Golden House 3-4 times this month. The man that sits in the back doesn’t come up and seat people or give menus. He just asks if I was dine in or carryout. Makes a bad host/hostess. When I go up to pay for my meal the same man mells very strongly of marijuana each time I have come to this restaurant. The bathroom smells strongly like urine. And the waitress with the different colored hair was also very poor at customer service and slow. She had a strong order herself also. I want to come back as I’ve come here for many years. I really enjoy the food and the price for what you get. But they need to something about their staff with hygiene and the smelling of marijuana.

*PLEASE EVERYONE* Instead of immediately going on here to bash Golden House, give them a chance to make things right! Janice & her family are incredibly understanding, and love their customers! They will listen to your concerns, and make sure you are happy with your meals. I ordered a carry out yesterday for dinner, and spoke to Janice on the phone. I had some reservations due to my last carry out order. She went above & beyond to make sure our meals were perfect, and that we were satisfied. One of the best “customer service” experiences I’ve ever had! Our dinner was the absolute BEAST Chinese food we have ever had! Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious! We have been going there for 15 or more years, and will continue to support this restaurant & family for the years to come. Thank you so much Janice & family for your dedication to your customers, you made us very happy 🙂 It was so nice to see you, your husband & the kiddos!

My favorite Chinese place in Livingston county. Get their fried dumplings they’re the best I’ve ever had. You get a lot of them and they are cheap in price – great value! Honestly everything on the menu is a great value. Lots of food, good price, and the service is always quick.

The food was pretty good the owners are nice the cook was also very nice. But I must say the women that waits on people smells like really bad bo. This was my 2nd time eating here the first time the same woman with really bad bo. This is a place where people eat it is very nasty having someone bringing you food that smells like that literally takes your appetite away. Please tell her to take a shower an put on deodorant….. people who handle food should be clean

This has to worst Chinese food I have got in Livingston county. My lo mein noodles were ramen noodles. The egg rolls were burnt. The fried dumplings were so rubbery a professional chef knife would not cut through it. The mushrooms were also rotted in my noodles. I will never go back.

No matter how many times I try to give this place another chance, they always disappoint me. I stopped by tonight to get some wonton soup because I was feeling under the weather… and the man who rung me up tried to charge me almost $6 for two bags for crispy noodles with my soup. I thought that soup comes with crispy noodles?? I asked him if one of the bags came with the soup, to which he replied, “no, usually you’ll get saltines.” I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve been eating Chinese food for a long time and never have I been denied crispy noodles with my soup. Maybe I need to just stick to avoiding them, since they obviously care more about making an extra couple dollars than providing good food.
