Everything about this place was just such a great experience. The owner came out and got me when my food was ready and talk about a warm, friendly personality. Made me feel very welcome and appreciated. I got the brisket grilled cheese and onion rings. When I opened the box my jaw dropped. I was very pleased to find out the food was just as tasty as it looked! 12/10 would eat here again and bring my friends. Worth the hr drive!

Just stopped by for a quick bite while working. Let me tell you, absolutely AMAZING! I got the smoke brisket mac n cheese empanda and fried pickles. It was the best I have had in a long time! The owner was so nice and service was fast! Definitely going back to try more of their food sometime.

I didn’t realize at first that this place was a southern food joint. The BBQ is REALLY GOOD (and that’s from someone who isn’t a big BBQ fan). We had an order of ribs and the pulled pork sandwich and were very happy with both orders. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was awesome, they use a hot pepper sauce on top of the chicken – delicious.

OK, so the menu online is entirely wrong. OK, 1/3 of the menu in the restaurant isn’t available. The people who run and staff this place are the reason we all dine out. They are passionate about their product, even when they are missing huge parts of the menu, and their kindness and clear personal investment makes the whole thing worth it. The ambiance is somewhere between an ice cream parlor, an arcade, hogwarts, and a jazz club in Louisiana. They were missing most of the empanadas we wanted to try, but what they had left were great. The empenada dough was flaky, buttery, and light; as though made by little grandmothers in the kitchen. The ribs were great, hiding under more sauce than they needed. The fried chicken sandwich was magical, an explosion of flavors in every bite (if you don’t like ginger and sage, beware). The buffalo and blue wings were awesome, smoked-fried wings are a struggle for most places, but these guys have got it down. The disco fries could feed two hungry defensive linemen, both of whom would be very happy and very full. The corn bread is amazing. The hush puppies were delicious, but mostly raw inside despite being fried golden brown. The only reason they are 4 stars not five is the hushpuppy underdoneness and the fact that the menu is perennially shrinking or elusive. We will be back, the staff are amazing, personable, and care… the picture of a Pen Argyl small business. #eatlocal
