I have been at this restaurant a few times now almost every week. I must say this is the best food in Chester PA. I’ve had breakfast and dinner. You get so much and the food is always fresh and tasty. The fish and shrimp and grits are delicious, the owner is very nice and gives excellent customer service, and along with being the best cook! I love the cornbread, best cornbread I ever had, greens are awesome, jerk chicken, rice Mac and cheese, I could go on and on. You won’t be disappointed

For my first time, it was not a good experience. I called and they were out of wings so I settled for honey grilled salmon. The fish was small, I got a bunch of collard greens and not enough mac and cheese. They even forgot my cornbread that was suppose to come with the platter (as stated in the menu). For the money i paid, i expected better portions. I don’t know about ordering from here again. The food tasted good though.

The name explains it all! Good customer service and the food pure goodness. I ordered the salmon fried rice (thumbs up). While my order was being prepared I was offered a sample of crab ball and shrimp alfredo both were very tasty. I’ll definitely be back for the crab cakes.

Love this place. We were in the area for a soccer game and read the reviews. 5 stars is a lot to live up to. I’d give them 10 stars if possible. Food is beyond amazing. Menu… doesn’t exist, it restrained the chef too much in his creativity. As Abdul admits: “ This stallion has got to run!” If you are looking for honest, passionate cooking that produces amazing results and a satisfaction that your taste buds will rarely receive then there is no other choice for your next dining experience. My new favorite restaurant in PA.

I Googled “Soul Food Restaurants in Chester” and Good and Pure came up. I called and asked about the menu, and Abdul politely explained that he did away with menus and cooks to order. In his words, if he has the food, he can cook it “any way you want it.” He later described how he made someone a crab omelette. I opted for a platter of crabcakes, greens and mac and cheese. I took it home to share with my wife, and her first words were, “Those are some BIG crabcakes!” She was right, and they were REALLY good – fresh, little to no filler and quite filling. The sides were also delicious and in HUGE proportions. I forgot to mention how well the presentation was with the limes. It felt like gourmet takeout. Abdul is a class act, and more importantly, his culinary skills are top notch. Don’t be fooled by the restaurant’s modest appearance. The same dish would cost 3 times as much at a big name spot. Treat yourself.

Me and my wife stopped in for lunch and what an amazing lunch it was. We both had the lobster, shrimp and crab sandwich on a buttery toasted brioche roll. It was to die for, absolutely no fillers and the spices were on point. Definitely returning to this gem.

Just ate with my family at Good and Pure. The food was out of this world. I had the barbeque chicken with mac and cheese and rice. Absolutely delicious! And the cornbread was sooo good. Portion sizes are very generous, definitely quality soul food!

This is by far one of the best places I’ve eaten. Perfect place to grab a bite to go or sit and relax in the dining areas. The food is out of this world! For all the seafood lovers, the salmon, shrimp, and lobster dishes are top notch. Definitely 5 stars in my opinion!

Placed a call for a first time order. Food was ready in a timely manner. Two very nice young men were. Very informative about what they offered!! Will definitely come back. Chicken was smoked to perfection, side dishes were huge wat!!
