Serving traditional Taiwanese food since 1988.
Description:
We are a family owned restaraunt serving authentic Taiwanese food since 1988. Our traditional taiwanese name, 好年冬 (hao nian dong), translates to Good Year Winter – a Taiwanese phrase that means gratitude for a good year and a good harvest. We offer many traditional street food dishes from Taiwan such as Pork Belly Buns (Gua Bao -Taiwanese Hamburger/割包), Oyster Omelet (O-A-Chian/蚵仔煎), Stinky Tofu (Chou Doufu/臭豆腐), Pork Chop Rice, Oyster Vermicelli Noodles (O-A-Mee Sua/蚵仔麵線) and many more. Please stop by and try our food. We hope to see you soon!

New favorite spot. So happy to see this business back in the area. It used to be named Nice Time Deli decades ago in Irvine. Growing up it was a Top choice for Taiwanese food, and glad to report they’re still serving yummy dishes. They have a complete menu, with notably authentic Taiwanese flavors & sauces. Along with offering most of the dishes you’d expect, they have the kindest service you’d find in the sweet land of Taiwan as well.

What a pleasant surprised to enjoy authentic Taiwanese food at its brand new location called Good Time Cafe in Lake Forest. They have been around in Southern California for over 30 years. Tried many dishes all very tasty and feel as if I was eating same foods in Taiwan. Highl recommended.

Knew about this place for a while, but finally visited there today. I’m glad we did. The taste is very authentic, very flavorful. Portions are nice size and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for authentic Taiwanese food.

We came here to get a quick bite before dinner ,and as my personal opinion, the food they served here is as close as you can get for taiwanese street food.

I almost never leave reviews but I had to for this one. Literal joke of a place. First of all, the place smells like the a* crack of your grandma when you walk in. Then there’s the the food portion size that’s only enough to feed an infant. I get it that times are tough with the inflation and all but at least increase your price accordingly? How is it that two pieces of meat in a dish is acceptable? And I wouldn’t be this disappointed if the taste was at least good. Spoiler alert- it wasn’t. It tasted so bland and dry like I was chewing paper. I will never come back to this place and I would not be recommending this place to anyone unless I hate them. What a disgrace to our local community. All these five star reviews must have been left by bots.

Fried chicken leg is not fully cooked, and the fried rice is too salty and too oily, and the salt wasn’t dissolved and two persons from my group ate salt clusters. The fried stinky tofu is not authentic at all. Plus the lunch special didn’t even came with broccoli or any green veggie. The recipes needs a total revision, otherwise I won’t take my friends here anymore.
