Ducked into the Gopher bar after wandering aimlessly for a late night snack. The place was clean. The bartender/server was excellent and the coney and fries came out quick and got the spot. Like everything thing in the strange planning of downtown St. Paul parking would usually be a hassle but tonight was fine. Enjoy!

I was a little nervous about what type of place I was entering, based on the outside appearance. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and welcoming it was once we entered. A great “dive” bar atmosphere, but great local clients and staff that made me feel like I was right at home, even though we are from small town Minnesota or Wisconsin. A great smalltown atmosphere in downtown St. Paul!

The bar was great…we went for lunch..cony dogs were very good…a little salty..good slushes. Next time we are going to try the different kinds of egg rolls. I brought my 15 year old son and he loved it. Parking was no problem and the neighborhood seemed good during the day. Not sure what all the hype is about on other reviews..saw no confederate flag or republican stuff, or liberal stuff. Just a good clean friendly bar. We will go again.
