The service here was phenomenal. I think we got one of the owners as a waitress. She definitely set me in the right direction. I ordered the BLT with chili and the chili was phenomenal, and I’m not a chilly fan, but I decided to try something different. The service was amazing. The drink descriptions were perfect. These suggestions were on point. We also got fried shrimp. Oh what a taste. The portion size was great we had leftovers for breakfast. It also reheated well. The ambiance was wonderful. Clean restrooms as well.

Okay, this place is great. Excellent food and usually excellent service. I’ve been there more times then I can count. But I think I’ll take a little break now. I went this afternoon and the service started out excellent. Charming young man who has waited on me before. Very friendly, very helpful. Food was excellent as always. It was late afternoon, not busy at all. I was sitting outside, waiting and it was extremely hot out. I seemed to be forgotten about. Due to the heat I desperately needed more water and would have liked another drink. Finally had to ask another worker for a box and the check. Finally the original guy came out. Too late for water or another drink. Had to ask for the box 3 times. Afternoon was ruined and I left disappointed. I just don’t get it. I love this place. Go for sure, but I’ll be taking a break. This is what makes me stay home.

Government Street Grocery is a cool restaurant with a unique vide. The outdoor area gives you the opportunity to enjoy the night air while engaging in the consumption of the delightful morsels. All the food on the menu pair perfectly with a frosty beverage. The descriptions of all the menu items had my mouth watering. Attempting to expand my experiences, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of fries dipped in gravy as an appetizer. I settled on a spicy steak wrap with a side of shrimp. Started off my GSG experience with the blackberry smash, an excellent spirited concoction. Chicken salad sandwich was delicious and made with fresh ingredients (one of best chicken salad’s I’ve eaten on the MS coast). Bar staff was courteous and professional. Five star experience. Great lunch place in downtown Ocean Springs.

Service was amazing and the food was delicious! We stopped in on a whim and were so happy we did! I had a turkey Swiss melt with gravy that was swoon worthy and my husband had the blt. Also the potato salad was yummy!! Will totally be back!!
