We had a great lunch at Grammy’s Kitchen on our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park. The delicious fried mushroom appetizer had freshly battered and fried plump mushrooms. The briskett sandwich on homemade bread with a side of sauteed bell peppers and onions was very good. The chicken fried steak was tasty. Service was very friendly and helpful. The dining area was super clean, bright and nicely decorated. They also had some nice locally made crafts for sale as well as fresh baked bread.

Visited Colorado for a camping trip and local friends recommended Grammy’s Kitchen as our last breakfast before heading to the mountains for 4 days. Excellent food, excellent coffee, excellent service. Everything is made from scratch, so it takes a little longer to get your meal, but it’s definitely worth the wait. I had the country-fried steak and eggs and it was amazing. Easily the best country-fried steak I’ve ever had. If you find yourself in close proximity of this restaurant, I highly recommend it.

We enjoyed an awesome lunch on our way to the Great Sand Dunes. The service was top notch the good was fresh and delish … My highlight was the onion rings… But we enjoyed taco salad, brisket salad, chicken fried chicken sandwich, and a patty melt. One of our companions said the blackberry milkshake was totally over the top! While you’re eating look at the floors… Great old reclaimed wood!

We almost didn’t go because the outside looks a little iffy, but we were glad we did! Very cute inside and the food was delicious. Get the onion rings! Also, very good ranch.

Was very disappointed in our meal. I had chicken fried chicken sandwich with o ion rings and my husband had a burger with fries. Everything was so greasy, the pickles and onions were tough. We probably won’t be back to this area but won’t return. Tiffany did provide excellent service but food wasn’t worth the price.

How often does one have opportunity to utter “you gave us too much food’; and yet, you want to eat every single bite and leave feeling as one does after Thanksgiving dinner? This is one place where you’ll be able to do just that. A little roadside oasis in reach of the Great Sand Dunes NP, Grammy’s serves up American comfort food (burgers, brisket, fries, rings is what we had) specialized sodas (in six flavors), service with a smile–from a Canadian, no less. A thoroughly enjoyable experience from beginning to the sweet end (16 flavors of shakes/malts). You owe yourself this meal ANYtime you might end up in Colorado’s beautiful San Luis valley.

Best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had! The staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that the breakfast burrito was still cold in the middle, but overall was tasty.

Grammy’s Kitchen is a perfect name for this little gem. If you went to your Gram’s and she made you some lunch from scratch it’d be the same, one woman in the kitchen cooking individual orders as they come in. Definitely a local restaurant, but if you’re traveling through, as this reviewer, and have PLENTY of time (it was well over an hour for food to be served), then stop by. Be sure to ask about the special of the day. Chicken fried steak sandwich had nice flavor, and is best without the bun and with the side of gravy, fries are homemade but a little stale. Ruben is packed with plenty of yummy ingredients and onion rings, YES, homemade with a tempura type coating. The desserts looked amazing and on this visit had many takers!

Keep an eye out because google maps took us to the pot shop about right before. We thought maybe it was closed so we started heading back on Highway 17 and sure enough there it was. Totally worth it! Food delicious and staff so sweet and attentive. Homemade and hot food. The owner is super nice and you can tell she is a hard working individual trying to survive through Covid19 and now road construction. She was our cook. If you’re passing through, it’s so worth it. I don’t put many reviews but this one was worth writing about. Even took for the road some fresh baked homemade bread!
