Really bad experience! Wouldn’t go here again or ask anyone to try it.

The filet fish in ginger and scallion sauce was so good! The Kangpo shrimp was a bit spicy and flavorful. The Shanghai bok choy was cooked just right, crunchy and fresh. Soup dumpling was good too. Reasonably priced, fast service.

Wonderful authentic food, I have come back numerous times already and every time I try I new dish I am still blown away. Most recently I got the home style ribs and the spicy chicken. It was absolutely amazing and the rice is perfectly well done. Portion sizes are reasonable and are well worth the price.

We got take-out from this place twice. We ordered their specialty, the roasted whole fish, and it was so tender and flavorful, that we ordered again. But the second time it was lacking flavor. The fish itself was way over cooked and we had to toss away all the burned parts. We recommend the soft bean curd pudding pork intestine because they gave a lot.

I decide to try out this restaurant after reading so many reviews and it closed to my hotel. As a world traveler and try out many different chinese restaurants around US, I have to say this is the worse restaurant ever. The restaurant smell like wet carpet as I walk in, server also who cashier are not really welcoming and check to see how the food taste like. The crab meat dumplings taste horrible, it seem like the meats is old and not fresh. The lomien noodles too oily and it doenst tasted like other chinese restaurant I been too. The beef tribes taste horrible, especially they much too much spices in there that make you cant taste the meat. Overall, it one of the worse chinese restaurant I ever been too.. once and not come back again.

A couple of new Chinese restaurants had opened recently in the neighborhood, but this is still our go-to place for Chinese food in Jersey City downtown for its variety of dishes and value. We usually do takeouts.

Not happy at all with this place, not sure how anyone’s rated this place anything higher than 2 or 3 stars. I had the Stir Fried Pork w. Hunan Style… there were plenty of rib bones left on the meat & I’ve had very similar dishes to this at other places where the bones were completely removed so that one could enjoy their meal, please see the pics. I also had their Shrimp Fried Rice, which had undercooked rice, plenty of it looked like rice-balls or as if old rice was cooked with fresh rice, the texture of it, look & feel reminding me of what you get at Panda Express, please see the pics… & I had their Shrimp w. Broccoli, decent sized Shrimp but they were not cleaned at all & the flavor was not the best either, couldn’t even say it was close to good for the price they charge. First time here & definitely my last. These 3 plates costed me approximately $55. I found out the hard way why this place was empty.

I’ve always liked this place in the past but tonight i found a cigarette butt in my hot and sour soup that was delivered. The restaurant told me it was probably a white pepper, but it was wrapped in paper and is clearly not and literally smells like tobacco.

Really don’t know what to say. Really disappointed. The fish is burnt out completely. Look like it attacked by a bomb, charred inside out. And cost me $50.

Grand Sichuan is my go to place for delivery Chinese food in JC. We love the lo mein, dumplings and soups. And it always fun to try something new off of this expansive menu.
