This is the best southern food I have tried. The pecan pie is to-die-for. The brisket paired with mash is just perfection. Everything is made with love. The place feels homey and welcoming. (Side note: go there with an empty stomach because they will feed you)

First time going. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was very delicious!! I really enjoyed the Saturday breakfast buffet!! They had a large selection and everything tasted like a grandma cooked it. I especially loved the country fried steak and their bread pudding. We will definitely be back!!

I’ve been going to Grandma Hoyt’s several times a week for about six months now. They have excellent ham, meatloaf, country steak, barbecue, and carrots. The restaurant is family owned and the staff always like talking to you to make you feel welcome. The restaurant has been mentioned in several publications such as “Our State” magazine as one of the best places to eat in North Carolina and I agree with those publications. The buffet is about $12 per person and a single plate is about $11 per person. For most single plates, the portions are generous enough to make the total plate weigh about a pound or maybe a little more.

We had Grandmaw Hoyt’s cater an event at our church (Lutheran Chapel Gastonia) for 100 people. They brought enough food for everyone to have a to-go plate! We had fried chicken, ham, broccoli casserole, green beans, potato salad with roles and banana pudding for dessert. The food was delivered on time, and was hot and fresh. Each dish was awesome. Can’t wait to dine with them again!

I would give them 10 stars if that was an option. My first time dinning in when me and my Fiance walked thru the door we was greeted by the owner ED. When I tell you he is one of the nicest people I have ever met I ain’t joking. Our total Experience was wonderful and the food was fresh and really really tasty!! (I recommend the brisket) I definitely highly recommend them to anyone. They really make you feel like family and we are definitely going back to try breakfast. Thanks again Ed…

Husband and I drove here today for the first time from Hendersonville after seeing about this restaurant on FB. We met the owners(husband & wife) immediately walking in the door.They immediately made you feel welcomed. We were showed to their cafeteria style buffet. We had their Fried chicken, ribs, macaroni and cheese, squash casserole, green beans, colored greens, cabbage everything was fantastic. Then we had to save room for a little dessert which was some peach cobbler and bread pudding both with ice cream.
